Parliament is prorogued. The first session of the 44th Parliament ended on January 6, 2025. During prorogation both the Senate and the House of Commons suspend their sittings. Any bills under debate or review will be dropped, effectively ceasing to exist. These bills won’t return unless they are reintroduced in the next parliamentary session.
