I’ve lived through the Savings & Loan crisis, the Dot-Com bust, the Great Recession, and COVID-19. In every case, the people that succumbed to defeatism got what they they envisioned, BUT so did the people who focused intently through it. Which person are you?

The thing that fixes this country is more capitalism, not less. Our problems today are the result of a culture that has lost its appetite for risk. America is more afraid to lose wealth than excited to create it. We can cling to past glories, or we can invest in the future.

ChatGPTs egregious use of the em dash is making a thing I love too cumbersome to use. After adding my disdain of the em dash to memory and starting most chats with a reminder, I STILL have to ask it to rewrite every response to remove them for a final copy. Please help @OpenAI

Community Development Financial Institutions are a non profit bank type that operates under a different regulatory regime under treasury rules. Most banks donate money to them to offload the work of meeting their Community Reinvestment Act requirements. They do a lot of good work around the country

A question about SBA loans: this has been kicked around in the 500-person slack group, but today I met a bunch of SBA reps in Palisades and they said you can’t use the funds to build an ADU. Anyone know about this? It could be a way to bridge inadequate insurance pay-outs.
