We have a lot of dudes like these Belgium dudes They play American football

It was this play in particular where I realized the writing might be on the wall for Shaedon Sharpe’s days in Portland. Not because of the outcome, but because of the lapse of focus, something that isn’t new to Shaedon. It has never been a talent issue. Sharpe has all the skill and athleticism to become an All-Star caliber guard. It’s always been the mental side of putting it all together and playing with purpose that hasn’t quite clicked. Twenty points per game is impressive, but when you factor in the subpar shooting splits, turnovers, and tendency to settle for difficult, low-percentage shots, it doesn’t translate to winning as much as you’d hope. That became evident in the postseason, where he could barely stay on the floor. When his shot isn’t falling and he isn’t getting to the line, it’s hard to point to the trait that keeps him on the court in big moments. Scoot has his defense and improving playmaking. Jrue has his defense and playmaking. Ja has elite playmaking. Dame commands defensive attention even when he isn’t making shots. More importantly, all four consistently bring the effort and energy needed to win. Shaedon isn’t a great defender, isn’t a great facilitator, and at times can be overly nonchalant when all you want is for him to play with the energy you know he possesses. We’ve seen careers like Zach LaVine’s, and so far Jalen Green’s, where the scoring is undeniable but the traits needed to consistently play winning basketball just aren’t there. Shaedon’s only 23 and has dealt with injuries, so maybe a change of scenery is exactly what he needs. But with the timeline catching up, he feels like the most movable piece to solve Portland’s backcourt congestion. #RipCity

Watch this be the guy Joe is waiting for

What we've heard about a possible Jaylen Brown to Blazers deal: - The C's are looking for a big & draft capital - POR has a TON of draft capital & Donovan Clingan - POR would "prefer to keep" Clingan - POR hasn't put Toumani Camara on the table...yet - POR would prefer to deal Shaedon Sharpe & Scoot Henderson It seems like Portland is the most likely JB destination and is holding back on putting Camara and/or Clingan in the deal, until the C's lower their ask on picks/swaps. They should be able to meet in the middle, IF they're both motivated.

Shams dropping more on a potential Jaylen Brown trade: “Majority of Boston’s conversations have been with Western Conference teams. Portland has had a lot of interest in Jaylen Brown — and they have a ton of draft capital.” Could we actually see a Dame + JB duo in Portland? 🔥

Trail Blazers owner Tom Dundon wants taxpayers to pay the entire $600 million bill for the team's arena renovations. “It feels like we’re making a pretty big investment by staying here and paying these tax rates," the billionaire said this week in Portland.
