Its so eye opening. Coaches, if you think you are doing Dynamic work & not measuring bar speed, jumps etc...you need to think again, you prolly arent. Get VBT please. @OVRPerformance is best in class & extremely affordable for even home gym guys. What you think is fast, isnt.
Austin Jochum@AustinJochum

Biggest eye opener from this vbt program Many times in college programs or self experiments I’ve used the good ole 65-75% for “dynamic efforts” and moved it “fast” Not until I hooked up a Vbt device did I realize how slow everything truly was - you’ll FEEL dynamic efforts done right lol

@CoachDrewLittle There’s a lot of things to consider with accessory work. I do a 1 RM and a 1 RM every week on the same day. Not sure what your set up is or what you have as far as logistics. Feel free to message me and we could set up a phone call and I might be able to give you some more info

@ETA_CoachB Bench is our struggle. Only get 1 session a week with the kids. We do what we can with the right tools. I would love to run board waves but I did them a few years ago for a few months and maybe I’m dumb but didn’t get good results with the kids.

Ive taken this and its had the athletes i work with improve their benches 100s of lbs. I just had an 8th grader bench 245 yesterday. Couldnt bench the bar when he started.
Stephen Rose@Stephen98717564

465 for a 5 lb PR to a 4 board. Running the boards and exposing extreme tension over progressed ranges of motion allows the brain to allow the body to do more than it previously thought possible. This is a reference to the Hoff story from @BurnTheLadders.

We bench 1-2 times a week. 3rm and 1rm first bench day. If we go a second day I use dynamic bench. We 3 week wave that as well. Chasing .8m/s. Our rotation is: Cambered multigrip bar Multigrip bar Power bar. Each wave trying to add 5+lb each week keeping same velocity.
Coach Lyons@CoachLyons73579

@ETA_CoachB How many times a week are you benching? Is it 3rm/1rm same day or is that your split? Gonna use the boards after spring break and I’ll let you know how it goes.

So when I meet with coaches and explain how we got to this point, it seems crazy until you’ve done it. It’s common nowadays to talk about how athletes are “soft” or lazy. But they are actually very smart and in tune. Leverage their intelligence

You will know how simple your training is based on how well it can run when you aren’t there. Can athletes open the workout and know exactly what to do, how to set it up, and how to do it? Our sessions practically run themselves. Our athletes can coach each other. It’s cool.

🏈📢🏉📢🏈"REAL TALK" - Here are some estimated benchmarks for D1 football players. If your son doesn’t meet these benchmarks by let’s say SOPHOMORE year or the BEGINNING of his JUNIOR year, the analytics suggest he has LESS THAN A ONE PERCENT chance to play D1 football. Understand, the culture has shifted tremendously. College coaches are under more pressure to WIN NOW with the portal approach! So the pressure to MAKE SURE Little Johnny has what it takes has been dialed up!!!!! This is why I’ve suggested to many when im asked about this, to consider forgoing winter/spring 7v7 tournaments that I see so many going to and instead get with a trainer/track coach now. This isn’t just about scholarships anymore. It’s about CASHING CHECKS! For example, at one prominent university as a “non-starting freshman,” little Johnny has an opportunity to earn $20K. If he’s a “starting freshman”, he can earn $100k at said university. A far cry from when many former D1 scholarship athletes had just $80 left for the month from their scholarship check. This is why, as parents, you must MANAGE EXPECTATIONS for yourself & your son. Make no mistake about it, he must be EXCEPTIONAL to play D1. To keep it in perspective, Division 1- FBS is a step down from the NFL (98.7 % of NFL Draftees come from Division I, FBS + FCS). With that said, ACADEMICS is the truest opportunity. Take your Mom & Dad hat & glasses off, and understand this is not what you perceive it to be. The goal should be a FREE EDUCATION! Period!

@CoachLyons73579 That should be three RM, one RM. I would say a majority of the bench press is what we do after the bench press.

@CoachLyons73579 We cycle through board presses. 3rm 2rm W1-4 board W2-2 board W3- bench I had a kid go from 155-345 in about a year doing that. He also put a ton of weight on and grew during that time. 185ish to around 220-230.
