You’re wrong on the math. 100 → 400 squat is NOT a 400% improvement. (400 − 100) / 100 × 100 = 300% increase, not 400%. Now let’s use the same math for my vertical jump improvement 28” → 44” (44 − 28) / 28 × 100 = 57% improvement in 2 years You said vertical only improves 10–30%. Clearly not true. I improved ~57% in half the time you’re talking about for the squat example, and that’s in a performance metric that’s way harder to change than a beginner strength number. Taking a teenager from a 100 lb squat to 400 in 4–6 years is normal progression. Taking a grown athlete from a 28” vertical to 44” in ~2 years is not normal. Different metrics, different ceilings, but the math doesn’t lie.

@type2twitch You can train a teenage boy from a 100 lb squat to a 400 lb squat in 4-6 years. So 400% improvement. You can’t get a 400% higher jump or faster sprint with training. Vertical improves 10-30% and sprint 2-10% with training.
