@BurnTheLadders Do they run with the activator belt on? If so is it with the ALTIS brand one, with all bands on at a time?

I time wickets and activator belt flies in addition to traditional fly segments. I back stop technical instruction with timing to help athletes catalog the feeling to adapt faster. I time every sprint rep no matter how many kids show up (OVR allows up to 10 lanes).

True. But strength is not nearly as important as jumping and sprinting for sports so if we’re sacrificing those for the lesser it’s a waste
Will@waw_jr_

@Coach_Jamnes @type2twitch I agree. Everyone can improve. But in my experience the ceiling in jumping/sprinting is limited by genetics in a way that strength is not.

My apologies sir I’ve been getting attacked on here 😭
NobletStrength@NobletStrength

@type2twitch I was agreeing with you. The reason people don't think sprinting and jumping is as trainable is because it's harder and they don't understand it as well as simply putting 5lbs more on the bar for strength.

Yes but that’s our job sooooo?
NobletStrength@NobletStrength

@type2twitch They're probably equally as trainable, but programming for sprinting and jumping is more dynamic and variable than powerlifting or weightlifting.

I’ve squatted 500lbs @ 195lbs BW no belt, an front squatted 425lbs @ 180lbs BW (a year later) Both times, my coach had 5x5 as a back bone of my training. You’re never too good for 5x5. @SS_strength

Well said
Jamnes Cameron@Coach_Jamnes

@waw_jr_ @type2twitch It’s training. Anyone can get stronger, faster, jump higher, etc. Anyone can improve their sprint and jump times. Obviously there is a limit but it takes quite a while to find that true limit for a kid. Just the same as strength. That is one of many buckets

You’re not thinking correctly. The athlete who has the genes to jump and run better will also lift SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER. And maybe you don’t know how to develop athletes to a high level but speak for yourself
GIF
Will@waw_jr_

@type2twitch No it’s not. Anyone can get strong. Genes play a much bigger role in jumping and sprinting.

I agree I’m just saying when athletes speed is not improving and vertical not improving for significant time, maybe pushing power clean 1rm isn’t doing anything important.
Cody Hughes@clh_strength

@thereallsu777 @_brianknapp @type2twitch He’s not wrong actually. It makes sense. It’s easier for a strength coach to show their value by seeing the easier trained barbell lift rather than doing the harder and more valuable thing of improving movement capability in space.

Thanks boss!
Bradlito@Bradlito1

@type2twitch Joseph, this is it. If whatever a player is doing doesn't increase the distance/height he/she can jump or it doesn't increase speed, it is of dubious importance. Exceptions, sure, say offensive linemen where bodyweight gains are required.
