@pbdes @esa @defis_eu @CNES @ASI @eusatcen There is no assessment necessary. It's managed by ESA, so it will be another embarrassment with performance similar to other ESA projects like Themis.

@pbdes @esa @ESPIspace Nothing is going to change. The old space spirit is too strong at the political, agency and industrial level.

@esa Europe has become completely irrelevant in space transportation and nothing that is decided at this council is going to change that.

We wrapped up the last ESA Council in Paris before we meet again in Bremen for #CM25. A lot has been finalised for decision by Ministers in November: Science programme, Basic Activities, General Support Technology Programme (GSTP), Space Safety including Ramses, ESA support to IRIS2, and more. We have one last informal Council on 17 November to finalise the rest. It was a very constructive spirit, ESA and its Member States are working as a team to present the best proposal for the beneift of European citizens. Much to get done in this final stretch, but we will get there.

@ESA_transport @esa @SSCspace So when will we see the first 1 meter flight? Tomorrow? Next week, next month, next year or in the next decade? The super slow progress just shows that Europe is falling further and further behind. Why do we need longer to copy SpaceX than SpaceX did it 13 years ago???

Standing on its own four legs🦿🦿🦿🦿 @esa's reusable rocket demonstrator Themis is standing tall. Themis will demonstrate rocket stage recovery and reuse technologies and the first model arrived at @SSCspace's Esrange Space Center launch pad in Sweden 🇸🇪 over the summer.

@ESA_transport @ArianeGroup @esa Can carbon fiber survive a reentry from orbit in a fully reusable launcher? If not, you are once again working on irrelevant problems that will not help us catch up with SpaceX. ESA will never learn! Always investing in the wrong stuff.

Lighter, faster, better, stronger 🚀 We are always working on self-improvement. Ariane 6 is no exception! We are working together with @ArianeGroup and MT Aerospace to evaluate how we can switch Ariane 6's upper stage metallic tanks for carbon-fibre reinforced-plastic ones. esa.int/Enabling_Suppo…

@AndrewParsonson In order to catch up with the competition we need to move faster but our leadership doesn't show any signs that they want to accelerate things. A reusable rocket like F9 is at least 2 decades away in Europe, maybe even more.

@pbdes @esa @NASA @CNES @defis_eu @DLR_en @ASI_spazio @latribuneevents There is no hope for Europe in space. I just have read the statement by BDLI (German industry) where they promote their awesome work relationship with ESA while delivering almost nothing on launchers or satellites. The whole system is broken.

@TMFAssociates Starship is over. 3 flight failures and 1 ground explosion in a row are not a coincidence but a direct consequence of Musk's political revenge trip.

@SpaceNews_Inc As long as Elon Musk remains CEO of SpaceX, the magic SpaceX has shown in the past won't come back. There is no magic in a political revenge trip. The damage has been done and it's over now.

@Erdayastronaut This happens when the CEO plays video games during important Starship meetings and goes on a political revenge trip. This lowered morale at the company and the damage cannot be undone. Starship was fine until 2024.

@esa Sorry to say this but 15 years ago, ESA got done a lot more. The competition is now doing 100 launches per year and has 1000s of satellites in orbit. ESA can't even do a 1 Meter Hop with Themis after many years of development. ESA must be replaced with EUSPA.

2024 saw numerous outstanding achievements for us. Simply put, ESA delivers. Some of our core memories include: 🚀Ariane 6's first launch and Vega-C returning to flight. 🛰️ Thirteen satellites were launched and are now sending back information on both Earth and our Universe. 🧑‍🚀 We welcomed five new astronaut graduates and celebrated the return of two astronauts from the Huginn and Muninn ISS missions. ... plus many more! @xdNiBoR No, we are not back. SpaceX lost its magic, because its founder went on political revenge trip. SpaceX will no longer benefit from the best talent in the world in the same manner as before. It's just a normal company now.

We are so fucking back. Also, it's going to get messy. Expect many huge cuts at Starbase and Tesla. If he really is back micromanaging the shit out of these companies, it will be brutal and messy for many employees. But in the end it will all be much better

As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.

@pbdes @esa @defis_eu If your business case depends on ESA or CNES, then your business will be doomed from the start. This is not only about money but also about regulations and the general non performance of those agencies, just look at all the projects they are doing.

@pbdes @OHB_SE @esa A bit more money is helpful but the real problems are ESA and CNES and I haven't seen any move by the Merz government to empower EUSPA. European space is simply a lost cause and it doesn't matter which party you vote for.
