@KonzertGut Schon, aber langer her.

At least there is a Royal Fest. Hall for orchestral concerts. Around the UK many theatres (since covid) closed for refurbs and, on re-opening, managers forgot about classical music. The regional orchestras do concerts out of their ACE budgets but chamber musicians also need work

A cello is always with us. Well done, Julian! We have fond memories of recording this 12 years ago.

@amwilson_opera We should all join in. How about King Sihanouk of Cambodia (RIP)?
English

Met and talked to: Peter Davison, Christopher Timothy, George Osborne, Plácido Domingo, Jonas Kaufmann, John Eliot Gardiner, Tasmin Little, Lucy Worsley, Tom Tugendhat (eclectic list), probably others I'll remember tomorrow... Have a much longer list of celebrity spottings...

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met in real life? I’ll go first: Al Pacino, Joan Collins, George Michael, Oliver Stone, Bono Vox, Monica Bellucci, Princess Anne, Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzogova, Gina Lollobrigida, Anthony Delon, Berlusconi, Meloni, Pope Francis and more
English

@ShekuKM It's indeed a privilege to work with people world-wide. Shame we couldn't do it together (due to timing)
English

@MartinSchalle17 It was the first work I played in our National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Rudolf Schwarz....

@SherstonTea @BBCRadio3 At least I've never heard Radio 3 chop off a chunk of a work, as did BBC4 (TV) very recently, because the naff programme at 21.50 needed to start. The end of the Lark Ascending with the BBC Welsh gone
English

Goodness how annoying has @BBCRadio3 become. wish ALL presenters would stop talking about "Shows", you are presenting a PROGRAMME : difference; & telling listeners to re wind all the time annoying - just a THOUGHT but maybe live in the now which is after all the beauty of radio
English

@Nash_Ensemble @hyperionrecords I see the inverted commas but wouldn't it be more elegant to write all in French so: Sonates pour divers instruments?
English

As many of you will know, our AD Amelia had a great love and deep knowledge of French music. One of the last Nash recordings she planned was this Debussy disc on @hyperionrecords, already released on CD and soon to be available on vinyl

English

@GramophoneMag Interesting. When I read 'basic question of how we (now) listen, I think of the participatory activities that
schools & music hubs favour....eg random banging of drums. Great fun to do but is there any connection with concerts? Teaching kids HOW to listen should be the priority.
