In a packed Aula Magna at Sofia University today, we marked the handover of the #IHRA presidency from Israel 🇮🇱 to Argentina 🇦🇷. Together with the Embassies of Israel and Argentina in Bulgaria, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, @MFABulgaria, and the Shalom Organization of the Jews in Bulgaria, we addressed a pressing reality: antisemitism has not disappeared - it has evolved. Its modern expression is often anti-Zionism. @HannaVeiler, President of the @EUJS 🇪🇺 Jewish Students, spoke candidly about the growing isolation of Jewish students across European campuses and the pressure many face simply for expressing their identity. MPs, diplomats, scholars, and students filled the hall - a clear sign that this conversation matters. One thing must be clear: academic intimidation driven by segments of the Marxist far-left in alliance with political Islam cannot go unanswered. If we surrender to intimidation today, we will pay the price of silence tomorrow. Rencontre ce matin à l'Assemblée nationale, en compagnie de ma collègue @KlinkertBrigitt , de Hanna Veiler et Jonas Markowitz, respectivement Présidente et Directeur de la European Union of Jewish Students, l'association qui regroupe 36 organisations d'étudiants juifs en Europe. Antisémitisme galopant sur les campus universitaires, antisionisme menaçant, la situation que subissent les étudiants juifs partout en Europe est grandement préoccupante ! Il n'est que temps d'agir plus fort et mieux pour éradiquer le fléau de l'antisémitisme.

We are outraged by the events reported at Andorra’s carnival, where an effigy bearing the colours of Israel and a Star of David was publicly put on mock trial, hanged, shot and burned in the presence of local officials. Turning a festive tradition into the symbolic execution of imagery associated with the Jewish state is a deeply disturbing act that risks normalizing antisemitism and incitement. Such displays are incompatible with the fundamental European values of dignity, respect and peaceful coexistence. This incident requires unequivocal condemnation, full clarification of responsibilities and concrete measures to ensure that antisemitism is never tolerated in public celebrations or institutions in Andorra or anywhere in Europe.

“Patience has its limits. UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese should resign from her position. Her latest statements, in which she described Israel as a ‘common enemy of humanity,’ are unacceptable and indefensible.

We firmly welcome the call made by French FM Jean-Noël Barrot for the resignation of SR Albanese, and urge other EU leaders to follow suit. SR Albanese has abused her role to spread blatant antisemitism in international institutions, on European campuses and the digital sphere.

Today is a good day, but this decision must mark the beginning of change, not the conclusion. The #EU has finally listed the IRGC as a terrorist organisation.

The vandalism of the Jewish cemetery in Barcelona and the antisemitic graffiti reported today in Vienna are not isolated incidents. They reflect a reality in which Jewish life is being targeted again. This must not be normalised. Antisemitism requires clear consequences.

Dreidels have four Hebrew letters on them, and they stand for the saying, "Nes gadol haya sham", meaning "A great miracle occurred there (in Jerusalem)". The roots of the dreidel can be traced back to the period when Jews were forbidden to study the Torah under Greek rule, particularly during the time of the Seleucid Empire (around the 2nd century BCE). To avoid detection, Jews would play a game with spinning tops, which appeared to be a mere game of chance, but in reality, it allowed them to study in secret.

The European Union of Jewish Students is disappointed to report that, despite the increasing antisemitism across Europe, the European Youth Forum has decided not to include a member of our organisation in their Anti-Racism Expert Group.

Yesterday in 🇫🇷 Paris, young Jewish leaders gathered for an inspiring Future Leadership Lunch with the World Jewish Congress & @Le_CRIF, including participants from the WJC Elevate program (JD Corps and NextGen). We had the honor of attending the Crif National Convention in France, which brings together dozens of high-level speakers each year to address political, diplomatic, societal, and cultural issues. This young leaders’ meeting was part of the Thrive Project, a joint initiative of the WJC, @EUJS, and @jewisheritage, which is funded by the @EU_Commission and focuses on strengthening Jewish life in Europe through resilience-building and awareness-raising activities. The conversation was powerful, focused on the challenges and opportunities facing our community today. WJC is at the forefront of building a global network of young professionals committed to strengthening Jewish life everywhere. We believe in the talent and vision of today’s young leaders.Their voices are shaping not just the future, but the present of our community.

AJC TAI is deeply concerned by @ULBruxelles decision to invite a representative of #Samidoun for a seminar- an organization that supports #Hamas terrorism and is banned in several countries. This is not freedom of speech. It’s advertising terror and hate.
