Good exchange with @TOBBiletisim @RHisarciklioglu @AyhanZeytinoglu on a reinforced EU-Türkiye agenda on trade, people-to-people, migration and security. A strategic and forward-looking approach is in our mutual interest. Reforms and improved alignment with EU positions are key.

The High Representative and the Commission will submit in November a report to the Council on the state of play of 🇪🇺-🇹🇷relations, building on the instruments and options identified by the European Council and with a view to proceeding in a strategic and forward-looking manner.

Accession negotiations with #Türkiye remain at a standstill since 2018. The country has not reversed the negative trend of moving away from the European Union, and it pursued accession related reforms to a limited degree.

Today, the Commission adopted the 2023 Enlargement package, recommending to: - open negotiations with 🇺🇦 Ukraine and 🇲🇩 Moldova - granting candidate status to 🇬🇪 Georgia - initiating accession talks with 🇧🇦 BiH once the required compliance is achieved. #EUEnlargement2023
