@charlie_grafton How is that even possible?! I had the transmission on my Avalanche replaced in October 2019, in Portland OR, for $2500

Is there a such thing as an Automotive Lawyer? Our warranty (Endurance Warranty) won’t even cover half of what needs to be done. Short version: transmission issues. Endurance INSISTED the shop tear down the entire transmission. They came out and took pictures. Then said they will only cover the tear down, and the torque converter. They admitted that the torque converter won’t solve the problem, but that’s all they’ll cover. Tear down + TC is $3,000, leaving us to pay out of pocket $4,000! If you know me, you know I’ve been through this before in 2019 when I had the Avalanche. Now we have a 2018 Chevy Silverado. I know damn well a transmission replacement is NOT $7,000. What can I do?! I’m so tired of all this.

Today on my show, I sit down with @KirkCameron to talk about the firestorm that hit after he discussed what happens to the unsaved and why Christians should be able to ask honest questions without getting branded a heretic. We discuss the major views on hell, why the details are debated, and why some leaders act like secondary doctrines are gospel essentials. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Intro 0:32 Kirk Cameron Joins 1:34 Why Question the Hell Doctrine? 3:57 Eternal Punishment vs. Annihilation 12:48 The Hellgate Roundtable Plan 22:23 Theology Quiz or Grace? 27:03 Belief Is Lived, Not Said

@ericmetaxas @KirkCameron This is super squishy, and you can tell that by all 10 people that loved this. There’s walking alone, and there’s choosing to isolate yourself while claiming to be the victim. Kirk has chosen the latter.

@alisa_childers You’re right about this. The fact that the apostle Paul gave women instructions on “when you pray/prophesy” implied that they will be speaking at some point in public.

I was today years old when I learned that there is a subset of Christians who don't think women should talk to other women in public settings. I'm genuinely trying to wrap my head around it. But when I am faced with a particular controversy, I try and keep my heart soft and ask myself (along with my husband and trusted advisors) a few questions: 1. What is the main claim they are making? 2. Is any part of it true? 3. How does it measure up against Scripture? 4. Is there anything I need to repent of or reflect more deeply on? 5. Are there any sinful attitudes or reactions (if only in my own heart) that come up in response to this that I need to repent of? After asking these questions and taking any necessary actions, I remind myself that none of the people who are making the claims will be there with me when I stand face to face with Jesus.

This is a perfect case-in-point from my post yesterday, in regard to “Feminism in Culottes.” What Stuckey teaches - that men and women are equally *and identically* gifted - is actually feminism masquerading as “complementarianism.” When girls and young ladies hear it taught that women have all the gifting that men have, but must refrain from having the same roles because God says so, it leads them to believe one of two things; 1) God’s separation of gender roles is arbitrary and capricious, existing for no reason other than that He likes order for the sake of order. Think of it like divine OCD, and He’s being unreasonable (doesn’t have a reason). 2) God isn’t unreasonable (without a reason), so we’ve clearly misunderstood Biblical gender roles, so women are free to do what God plainly says should not be. The woman in this QT suffers the second malady, so she screeching in her Longhouse dialect about me being a Pharisee. The Biblical position is not Stuckey’s, that men and women are gifted equally but gender roles should still be in force for the sake of order. Just as Jesus being the head of the church isnt arbitrary (as though humans are equally capable, but we let Jesus do it just to keep order) men are not the head of their wives for no good reason. The Biblical position is that men and women have different roles not just because God says so, but also because WHY God says so. 1. Women are created like Eve who, made second, were made to serve and with aptitude best suited to help men, not lead them ( 1 Timothy 2:12-13). 2. Women, like Eve, are more susceptible to being led astray by Satan (1 Timothy 2:14). 3. Women are more easily distracted from the main point, and more susceptible to the peddling of fables (1 Timothy 4:7) 4. Women are more susceptible to negative or foreign influence (2 Timothy 3:6-7). Evolutionary biologists acknowledge this, but claim it’s from centuries of being taken captive by competing warlords, and adapting another tribe’s worldview was necessary for survival, but we know the real reason (God made them that way). 5. Women struggle more with submission to authority, a nightmare leadership trait (Genesis 3:16). There are other reasons as well, like Sspurgeon suggesting “men with small chests” refrain from the pastorate because they appear weak, or the fact that whereas godly women have little problem following men, godly men naturally don’t want to follow women (churches with female clergy are almost entirely female in the pew). But the Biblical reasons alone are enough to demonstrate that God’s order is more reasonable that his quirk for having things in order. Feminism suggests otherwise, and Stuckey’s repeated claims of being as gifted as men leads to more feminists in the church, not fewer.
