@uvray_ They gave most food production to other countries, most people can’t actually can’t afford meat from this country, grain also, did you not notice, that is what they should protest about, I do know how things work, me and my partner have decent cars, which we work hard for.
@Earthboundarts You will care though. When the state takes control of food production and what they do with that. I'll take working farmers over politicians any day of the week.
You can't dislike people just because they have a bit of money - especially when they've worked for it.
This is a nice example of the kind of vehicle the farmers/land owners drive around here, Prices start from £85,995. Tax deductible, also worth thinking about . So excuse me for not caring!
It can't be one rule for one and one rule for another. The farmers who drove tractors at the police need to be arrested and charged. The just oil protesters got prison sentences for less. Or this will literally be two-tier policing.
So fu(k them, they obviously don’t care about the environment as a whole. They literally only care about themselves, and that’s how it’s always been. I’m a proper country bumpkin, rich people can piss off 4/4.
One of the rich land owners near me owns 3 stately homes with farm land so he can avoid inheritance tax, builds houses as his main business. he is mega rich . He doesn’t give a flying F about farming, only thing he cares about is his kingdom and his hunting. 3/4
I live in a village, the village I was born in , I can live here only because I have a very lovely landlord, who gives me affordable rent. My dad lived here because he had a council house, this is not an option for anyone on a lower income anymore. 1/4
@LoveGrowingVeg So you have made first contact, that may be all it takes for him to be honest with you. You maybe a big help for him to realise that he needs some help, sometimes it’s hard in rural areas to access food banks (if that’s where you are) .
Caught the guy this evening who has been breaking/thieving eggs from our honesty box. Came again. Security light spooked him. He offered to pay. Somethings not right, he said he was waiting for pension 💴. Gave him a tray eggs and told him not to steal from me, unsettling 😔
I tweeted the other day about my musician mate who had just come back from touring the US, shocked at how bad it had become since covid, with shanty towns everywhere she went and real poverty and suffering.
Unless you address this level of obscene inequality, people will rise up against you.
I don't want bloody revolution.
But let Trump's election be a warning.
Do not follow the neoliberal blueprint.
