@tomdoorley @parkersarms The punt shop Eamonn Dunphy of food, again, tries to convince us all that his bejesus palate is the one to follow! And the much overrated Parkers Arms is a perfect example of why Michelin gets it right!

@ChezBruce @profdwh I use the basic olive oil from @Aldi_Ireland @AldiUK (the one I fry with) using whole egg, Dijon mustard, organic cider vinegar - with a stick blender. Perfect mayonnaise in about 5 seconds.

According to Old Julian calendar today is Twelfth Night, and some cider producing regions in the UK are celebrating Wassailing tonight. So I am posting another dancing from my visit to watch Wassiling in Fleece Inn Bretforton last weekend ☺️ Worcestershire

Can you help settle a debate please? In a fancy restaurant is it acceptable to dip your finger in the food or wipe the plate clean with your finger? I hold a strong position on this but the kitchen and those out front are very divided. Those who’ve eaten with me will know my take

Tudor Crisps. Crisp royalty in the North-east, it was a sad day when Walkers took them over and they subsequently disappeared for ever. They were definitely worth climbing a mountain for! 😂😂 #NorthEast #Tudorcrisps

@wyahaw Great review Andy …. I sometimes wonder if a restaurant as good as Art School or a few other Northern restaurants would have a different Michelin award if London based?

@joshbythesea Great article… I have trailed the route nationally and internationally for years and one thing I have found is it is more consistent than inconsistent…. Infact I have found bibs more inconsistent than stars… Equally many restaurants not in the guide are not there for areason

@jayrayner1 @GWRHelp But culturally we uphold the principles of tolerance, resilience and quietly complaining… oh and others making lots of money and providing terrible services based on these principles!

I know whinging about the train system in this country feels like stating the bloody obvious but really @GWRHelp today you are a complete disgrace. Endless cancellations. And now standing room only on a service all the way from Swansea.

@LittleMissRed_x Not sure why you keep appearing on my timeline… but you seem very “look at me … look at me… stop being mean”… to a gaggle of sad middle age pathetic men… who lie about their intentions and ultimately want you naked or hate you for not… such desperation on both-sides…

@JulianMellentin “How do I know? Our customers, from the US to Australia and Japan, have been making plant-based meat ….” That is not knowing and puts you firmly below mainstream media in your evidence base. You fall into the low evidence high confidence in belief category. A dangerous position

1. "Studies" are all to be treated with skepticism. 2. The mainstream media has mostly no idea what they are reporting on... 3....and as a result they pump out PR-led misinformation like this. 4. Clearly the journalists did not read or understand this "study", which is page after page of drivel and inaccuracies. 5. How do I know? Our customers, from the US to Australia and Japan, have been making plant-based meat alternatives - or their ingredients - for 30 years. So we have learned at first hand what the reality is. 6. Plant-based meat substitutes are ultra-processed, low-nutrition junk foods. 7. If you treat anything the media says as "real", then I have a soy-based bridge to sell you...
Guardian Environment@guardianeco

Plant-based meat alternatives are eco-friendlier and mostly healthier, study finds theguardian.com/business/artic…
