@TheAmanuensis Strange take. Suggest you look up where the new POTUS, VP, DefenseSec and rest of the cabinet went to school. How many times do you think the VP has been to Aspen? How about Elon and Vivek, where do you think they were educated and hang out? It ain’t Des Moines.

This is an absurd position, and it's clear you still don't get what's happened. The voters have had enough of credentialed Ivy Leaguers with heads full of theory and zero real-world experience; who are interbred in a way that would make a Hapsburg blush; who live in the same handful of neighborhoods and summer in the same places; who regularly employ the revolving door between the media and govt. The voters just said they don't want people who "believe in" or have "experience running large bureaucracies," they want those bureaucracies destroyed by men who understand the threat they pose to freedom. Learn to cope or keep on seething.

The anarchy, destructiveness and vindictiveness of Trumpism has forced many of us to become reluctant defenders of the status quo—even when that is not a clear reflection of our views. Does the federal government need reform? Hell yes. But appointing unqualified heads of federal agencies who do not believe in or understand the mission of those agencies and have no experience running large bureaucracies is not the way to do it. The criteria for these appointments is not expertise but loyalty, and their loyalty is guaranteed by their very lack of qualifications.

@jaredpolis Hey @GovofCO, You’re supporting a guy who said the following, well done: “Covid-19…is ethnically targeted. It attacks certain races disproportionately. Covid-19 is targeted to attack Caucasians and Black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese.”

I’m excited by the news that the President-Elect will appoint @RobertKennedyJr to @HHSGov. He helped us defeat vaccine mandates in Colorado in 2019 and will help make America healthy again by shaking up HHS and FDA. I hope he leans into personal choice on vaccines rather than bans (which I think are terrible, just like mandates) but what I’m most optimistic about is taking on big pharma and the corporate ag oligopoly to improve our health. Before you mock him or disagree, I want to share with you some quotes that if he follows through show why I’m excited: “Level the playing field for Americans internationally on drug costs…cap drug prices so that companies can’t charge Americans substantially more than Europeans pay." YES! Colorado currently has an application just SITTING at FDA for us to import low-cost prescription drugs from Canada and we just need their approval. "In some categories, there are entire departments, like the nutrition department at the FDA that are – that have to go, that are not doing their job, they're not protecting our kids," YES! The entire nutrition regime is dominated by big corporate ag rather than human health and they do more harm than good “We’ve got to get off of pesticide-intensive agriculture.” YES! We have tried unsuccessfully to better protect people and pollinators from harmful pesticides here in Colorado and we need all the help we can get to take on big chemical companies and improve human health and the environment! For our pollinators and our people! 🦋 He will face strong special interest opposition on these, but I look forward to partnering with him to truly make America healthy again and I hope that we can finally make progress on these important issues.

@BenjySarlin Dude seems pretty self-destructive to me. But maybe his “let me share pornographic pictures with colleagues on the House floor” was 3-D chess that I’m misunderstanding.

One thing about Matt Gaetz I think is misunderstood: He’s a smart tactical thinker with real goals. People treating him as a clown pick rather than a power move with lots of baggage are wrong on that part. If he becomes AG, he won’t just immediately implode, he’ll have plans.

Exxon CEO tells Trump to chill on climate policy: “I’ve been advising that we have some level of consistency ... policy switching back and forth as political cycles occur and elections happen and administrations change... [is] not good for the economy.” politico.com/news/2024/11/1…

Exxon's CEO warned that rollbacks to U.S. climate policy will make the future "that much more challenging.” “I don’t think the challenge or the need to address global emissions is going to go away,” he told us. politico.com/news/2024/11/1…

The enemies of our nation want us at eachothers throats over a 2nd Trump presidency. They want violence and instability in America. Let’s not give it to them. Let’s instead give them unity by respecting the results of the election. We cannot give into conspiracies which entertain alternate results which both Harris and Biden have accepted. If you believe Twitter handle @conspiracysearch347902 knows more than USIC, then go outside and touch grass.

John Oliver implores the Senate to pass the PRESS Act! It's already passed the House unanimously. It would protect journalists across the political spectrum from spying and the threat of jail time for doing their jobs.

One must wonder what kind of nominations they have in mind if they are so worried about their nominations even in a Republican-controlled chamber.

It is a dangerous situation when supporters of a party with absolute control of all branches of government still feel aggrieved, victimized and marginalized. It can justify all sorts of abuses. I hope this attitude shifts after MAGA takes power, but I’m worried.

But, ironically, the President can launch nuclear weapons without any due process, killing hundreds of millions, maybe billions, of people. No mortal—Democrat or Republican— should be given that sort of unchecked power.
Tristan Snell@TristanSnell

No, you can’t just deport people without legal due process. No, you can’t just fire federal employees without legal due process. No, you can’t just impose across the board tariffs without Congress. If Trump tries, he’ll get SUED — slowing or stopping him entirely.

To re-iterate what should be widely known but isn’t—there are no nuclear checks & balances. The president has sole launch authority. In some scenarios, top officers at Stratcom might not even know the launch order has been sent. It is a true nuclear monarchy, and it is obscene.
Matthewbrice@MatthewBriceAK

@RadioFreeTom I have MAGA keep telling me over and over that there is a nuclear strike authorization chain of command that can hold Trump in check. That he cannot singularly order a nuclear strike. If nothing else, military will refuse to turn key because they'll discern it is an illegal order

@TomiLahren Yes, this is called a policy difference. Liberals do not want to spend government resources on this particular policy. It’s quite healthy to have disagreements over policy! That’s democracy! Then you have elections and the winners set the policy. It’s not a problem!

Isn’t it amazing that Libs are now so worried about money? They don’t worry about how much it costs us to feed, house, and educate all the illegal immigrants. They don’t care how much money we send to foreign countries to help secure THEIR borders BUT NOW all the sudden the expense of deportation is just too much?! Money well spent. x.com/CollinRugg/sta…

Had an early flight so was tip toeing down the stairs this morning to be quiet. Slipped and went full flight. Still assessing the damage and if I can swing a club 😬 Pretty scary could’ve been much worse 🤦‍♂️

@poloniumman Meaning it should be a political decision more than an economic one (which in this case I support, by the way, despite it breaking my heart to see the peaceful continent re-arming)

…With an impossible-to-calculate ROI bc if it works you never have to use. However, militaries initially built for deterrence (USA post WW2) find adventures (Iraq) when their mission suddenly is over. Plus also opportunity cost of reduced investment in schools, hospitals
