Peter Obi
Peter Obi@PeterObi·
Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

If disrespect is served, then Obi can take a walk. But it takes a coalition to upstage Tinubu. A 3 horse race gives Tinubu the victory. We can as well congratulate Tinubu now.
Ibrahim H Abdulkarim@ziter001

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Peter Obi has never been the type to trade insults or descend into the gutter. He doesn’t call names. He doesn’t join issues. He simply shows up every single day, doing the real work of opposition, engaging the government, holding it accountable, and keeping the dream of a better Nigeria alive. For three solid years since the court judgment, while others were still enjoying life somewhere, Obi has been on the move, focused on the goal, not the drama. Yet today, we are watching people who couldn’t deliver their own states in a general election , people with zero national electoral value, speak about Peter Obi and the Obidient movement with shocking condescension. They behave as if opposition is about transactional deals inside party rooms or who won the loudest primary. They forget that real opposition is about character, consistency, and capacity. This kind of arrogance is exactly why many genuine Nigerians are quietly walking away from the so-called “coalition.” You cannot bully, belittle, and talk down to the man millions see as the most decent, focused, and issue-based leader in the opposition space and still expect his supporters to line up behind you. If this condescending attitude continues, Peter Obi may simply do what any man of dignity would do: step back, protect his integrity, and look for a better platform where his vision can be pursued with respect in 2027. Because the Obidient movement did not come this far to be treated as an afterthought or a bargaining chip. Nigeria deserves better than small-minded politics disguised as coalition-building. Let those who truly want change understand this simple truth: You don’t win the future by disrespecting the one leader who has consistently shown us what decency and focus look like. Peter Obi is not desperate. The movement is not desperate. But we are principled. Respect is not negotiable. Dignity is not for sale.

4 years after NYSC. 4 years in the labour market. Here’s my 2 cent advice: 1. Always choose yourself first before your workplace. 2. If you’re sick, rest and get proper care. No job is worth your health. 3. Don’t spend your money on company needs unless it also builds value for you. 4. Use every opportunity to learn and improve. Growth should be constant. 5. Within 3 months, you should know if a company is right for you. If it’s not, set a timeline and start planning your exit. 6. If you’re consistently treated poorly, it’s rarely something you can fix. Focus your energy on leaving, not enduring. 7. The moment you stop gaining value, start preparing your next move. 8. Keep learning, Keep upskilling, Be ready for better opportunities. Because the truth is, that organization can replace you at any time.

@Diokpa_Ifeanyi I don't think that's the case. I think PO has always emphasised about the process of an outcome and not exactly the outcome itself. Anyway I wish them the best.

If you want to really, really stay at the top and flawlessly eat in the financial services industry, you need to have a very solid knowledge and understanding across these four cardinals: ✑ Understanding macroeconomics ✑ Knowledge of finance ✑ Understanding how businesses work and the various types of business models ✑ Knowledge of accounting It is like combining economics, finance, business admin, and accounting into one.

Arsenal are level on points and goal difference with City, the highest goalscorer wins it now. Arteta is now forced to coach an attack, something he hasn’t done for long, it will be interesting to see how he responds to this. Let’s see if he’ll continue with two DMs who can’t progress the ball and a failed midfielder at CF.

I like that Prof goes to all these platforms and tells them that their methods are futile and they will never work. I have my gripe with prof because of his affiliations but if he can tell the whole clergy and political class that they can never make it. I’ll manage it.

1. We are not a well coached team. We lose the second ball a lot and always still jittery in important games despite 7 years of Mikel Arteta as a manager. 2. Arsenal should compensate Bayer Leverkusen and cancel the permanent deal they want to make for Hincapie. 3. Gabriel is a huge disappointment. Khusanov is just 22 years old. Guehi came in from Crystal Palace in January and both are more composed than you today. 4. Odegaard doesn’t offer nothing as captain and AM 5. Havertz is a useless striker and even more useless midfielder. Cut your losses and sell off. 6. Sell Madueke this summer before his value tank entirely. He’s useless and will never improve. 6. Mosquera is not a RB. Play him at CB or don’t play him at all. 7. We still don’t have a defensive midfielder. Cherki, Bernardo Silva and co just strolling through our midfield. 8. Martinelli and Trossard came in to do nothing. Nothing always! 8. Bring in Luis Enrique if we don’t win the league or UCL. Awful night!

Michael Jackson had to cut a deal with a drug lord to film this video. The Brazilian government tried to block the shoot. A judge banned the filming. The police refused to enter the area. Rio was bidding to host the 2004 Olympics and didn't want the world seeing footage of its poorest neighborhoods. So Spike Lee walked into the favela (Rio's version of a hillside slum) and found the local crime boss. His name was Marcinho VP. He ran one of the city's biggest gangs, Comando Vermelho. He also happened to be a huge Jackson fan, and he provided the whole production with security for free. A higher court eventually overturned the ban. The police still wouldn't go in. So 1,500 police officers and 50 residents acting as security guards sealed off the favela. Jackson arrived by helicopter. He walked the streets handing out candy to the kids. The people who lived there had woken up early that morning to sweep the streets and take out the trash before he got there. Mid-shoot, two women burst through security. One knocked Jackson flat. Spike Lee helped him up and he kept dancing. That exact take is in the final video. For the Salvador half of the shoot, he worked with 200 drummers from a local group called Olodum. The media coverage put them on the map in 140 countries. They'd been a regional act before the shoot. They became a global one after. Over 200 million people watched the premiere around the world. The song itself peaked at #30 in America. In Germany it went to #1 and stayed on the chart for 30 weeks, the longest run of any Jackson song there. The video crossed 1 billion views on YouTube in 2023. Only one other Jackson video has done that: Billie Jean. He's the first solo male singer from the 1900s with two videos over a billion. The day after Jackson died in 2009, Rio's mayor announced they'd put a statue of him in the same favela where the video was shot. Locals said the turnaround of their neighborhood started with his visit.
