"Don’t let anyone use Christianity to gaslight you‼️" I can't remember the first movie I saw this move, but someone played the "Trust no one(but me)" card in the movie. Fortunately for the protagonist, they were wise enough to smell the rat and reveal the "caring person" as

@MeeplePastor “We men may often make very bad priests. That is because we are insufficiently masculine. It is no cure to call in those who are not masculine at all.” -C. S. Lewis, Priestesses in the Church?

Christianity's subversive nature must not be overplayed. Seeing that it is only incidental. Christianity does not subvert the natural order; it subverts the sinful 'order' (more like sinful disorder).

Something I have always regretted being unable to fit into my @DavenantInst book on C.S Lewis' Ransom trilogy was a chapter on his treatment of the necessity of violence and the over-spiritual gymanastics of trying to avoid it in "Perelandra" An astonishing 8 page stretch. 1/2

Middle one here is important, I think. In a still basically peaceful de-industrialised country with a small military, where schoolboy play is longhoused, most people just aren't familiar with what the imposition of serious, legitimate physical force looks like.

@Andrewnsnyder The one where he accuses them of developing a "professional conscience." Many such cases nowadays, with clergymen choosing diplomacy over truth.

C.S. Lewis addressing the theological drift of Anglican priests: "We never doubted that the unorthodox opinions were honestly held: what we complain of is your continuing your ministry after you have come to hold them" (Christian Apologetics).

Posit: Those who see faith and reason or who hold philosophy and theology as irreconcilable fail the test of reason. I will be taking no questions at this time, thank you.

Something proponents of abortion never seem to take into account - when abortion is on the table as an option, socially and legally, women who want their babies may come under huge pressure from those in their lives that don't want them to give birth.
Fleur Elizabeth@fleurmeston

It's quite an amazing story. His mum had an abortion scheduled, but decided against it despite pressure from her parents and his young dad. To stop it, she ate a full English so she couldn’t have the procedure. Wes calls it “an extraordinary act of courage and defiance.”

God has instituted four types of governance—self, family, church, state. And all governance requires subduing rebellion: The sinful flesh. Unsubmissive household members. False teachers, subversives & wolves. Criminals, anarchists & traitors.
