@Rendani666 I get your point, but you missed another critical detail, Hollywoodbets requires you to wager your deposit at least once before you can withdraw. For example, if you deposit R2.6m, you must place bets totaling at least R2.6m before a withdrawal can be requested. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Yes the community provides labour but the catering? Culture can't be impervious to change. Everything must evolve.

We don’t often have memorial services. Our funerals serve as both, a memorial service and a funeral. It is important that we acknowledge the essence of Ubuntu in our proceedings. When someone passes, it is not the close family that has lost a member, but the village/community. We gather not to perform or partake in the ceremony just to get it over and done with, the community’s extended presence in that family for that period of a week or two, also serves as a reminder that you are not alone. While it is enticing to observe and subscribe to the western way of a funeral service, it is import to acknowledge that no culture or group is superior than the other. We are all different, and that needs to be celebrated, not used as an opportunity to ridicule. The young lady in the video obviously has a lot to learn, I won’t judge her. Someone else might mention the cost of living. In the true sense of Ubuntu, we always chip in towards a family that is disadvantaged. Now if this sounds backwards and outdated, ask yourself… Whose fault is it that we don’t assist each other as much nowadays?

Colleen Makhubele joins Power FM After her immediate resignation as the MK party member of parliament with immediate effect, Makhubele joins Power FM from 1 March 2026. Last month, Makhubele was removed as the party’s parliamentary chief whip. Makhubele was previously Johannesburg council speaker. She is the former president of the South African Rainbow Alliance. On 5 November 2025, John Hlophe sacked Colleen Makhubele as the MK's Chief Whip and replaced her with Des van Rooyen. @RCM_Que @jesuispattieb Two reasons why that would make absolutely no sense. 1. You can't easily withdraw funds you have not bet with. If you do, you have to pay a penalty. 2. He is being charged prime interest per day that the money is outstanding. That is about R750 PER DAY! In 10 days its 7 grand!

Okay, so we already know that chicken is the number one fast-food choice for most South Africans… but one chicken brand is expanding fast, and the numbers are seriously impressive. We all know the usual suspects. I’ve recently written about Hungry Lion and its aggressive rollout, and Chicken Licken and its Fly-thrus (still my favourite rebrand of a drive-through). KFC still dominates market share. But the brand I find most fascinating right now is Pedros. Pedros already has over 200 stores nationwide. For a brand still considered young, that number is great. Their chicken offering is grilled, and prices are affordable. Pedros also recently acquired the Bird & Co brand from the former CEO of Famous Brands, Kevin Hedderwick, with 9 stores in its stable. A brand that was founded by Christos Paterimos in 2018. Greg Stephenson from Pedros is now heading the expansion of Bird & Co.  I slid into the DMs of the Founder of Pedros and its Operations Director, Moosa Bux, who shared that back in 2021 their executive team set a target of 250 Pedros stores by 2027. They are well on their way to achieving that number, with strong shareholder support, franchise partner networks, and a well-entrenched support structure in service of stores and customers.  It costs roughly R2.5 to R3.5 million to open a Pedros store, and most areas are already taken by franchise partners. That’s significantly lower than the R5.5 to R10 million setup cost of a KFC. I’m also told there have been no store closures due to bankruptcy since the brand's launch, which points to a strong supply chain.  While the upfront store investment seems reasonable and the returns solid, I think the biggest challenge for Pedros in SA is the competitive market, and dealing with a food quality standard that must be repeatedly excellent. And that’s before we even get to South Africa’s usual operational curveballs like blackouts and water interruptions. Have you tried Pedros or Bird & Co?
