Every new car in the U.S. will be required by law to have tech that puts constant surveillance on the driver by 2027. AI in your car will determine if you're sober and fit to drive, automatically turning off the vehicle if it determines you're a danger on the road.

Living in Germany, I remember how much they always claimed to do for the kids in Africa. Well, at least that's what they said they would do and why they needed our money for. Of course, these countries are still shitholes, and now the new way to "help out" is to flood the West with them. 😏 Or how much they promised to integrate all the migrants coming into Germany. Yeah, that didn't happen. Or how they promised to modernize our schools. That didn't happen either. It's just empty promises my whole life, and it looks eerily similar to what's happening in other Western countries. I'm sure any of you here from different countries will have a similar story to tell. It's all bullshit. It's getting worse. 50 years for nothing.

How do other people who lived through the 80s and 90s stomach what's going on right now? I find this extremely sad to watch, knowing how awesome the USA was.

This is some insanely dystopian shit..... If you car doesn't think you're attentive enough, it will shut down. In 2027 all cars will be monitoring your every move and recording it. The systems must passively monitor the driver and intervene if impairment (alcohol, drowsiness, distraction) is detected. Key capabilities include: Infrared cameras and sensors (often on the steering column or A-pillar) to track: Eye movements, pupil dilation, gaze direction, and blink patterns. Head position and nodding. Behavioral analysis: Steering inputs, lane drifting, erratic movements. Possible passive alcohol detection (e.g., via skin contact or cabin air sensors to estimate blood alcohol concentration around the 0.08% legal limit). If impairment is flagged, the car can: Prevent ignition/startup. Limit speed or gradually slow the vehicle. Issue warnings (visual, audible, haptic).
