@flagrantfrgmnts @GhettoMonkSoc @radfemswiftie Great point. 5 yr olds should have much more nuanced, thoughtful responses And even if they did foolishly want to be stay at home moms, they should have abstained out of respect for their brave little feminist classmates

@GhettoMonkSoc @radfemswiftie The answer is the proof, when 75% of girls say the same answer of wanting to be a SAHM, it’s telling what aspirations are being taught to them. Majority of boys are not saying they wanna be a stay at home dad. So it’s clearly gendered.

@radfemswiftie A glaring sign of gender roles being indoctrinated into kindergarten girls, really sad actually.

@radfemswiftie Kids wouldn’t say those words. A girl might say she wants to be a mom but a kindergarten kid isn’t going to say “stay at home wife.” Someone is propagandizing it.

@RepJackKimble You have a ton of cushy benefits beyond your salary. And add in the grift and graft and it’s very lucrative Members’ net worth usually skyrocketed. Except of course, the poor lady who went from $30,000,000 to $80,000

Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.

@HistoryBoomer Wait- you think college campuses are THE place for open honest debate on controversial issues? Um, Carl, have you missed the countless examples of the exact opposite over the last 20 yrs? And all the tantrums, shouting down, and violence comes from the “tolerant” liberals.

The reason why you put your kids in sports is to teach discipline, teamwork, but ALSO competitiveness and resolve/stamina (and hopefully good sportsmanship). Life is tough. Teach them how to fight through adversity.

@BarryOnHere “55 years with ‘no scandals’ is a bold claim for the Clintons. Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers, Juanita Broaddrick, impeachment, and the Oval Office scandal alone gave America enough political drama for decades.”

Wow. Harsh but fair… Recently my wife was talking about something she wanted/wanted to do and had concern about our wonderful 24 yr old daughter’s opinion. Said “you haven’t been subject to her judgement…” I said I know. Because when she was about 7, she rolled her eyes at me dismissively and I fucking lit her up

I screw up A LOT as a parent. However, I did a couple of things when my kids were little, that has benefitted me in the teen years. When my daughter was 6 she said she wished I was dead. My concern wasn’t about the disrespect, but what if I did die in a car accident that day, and she blamed herself- it would ruin her life. While she was at school I took down all the holiday decorations, removed all the cute clothes from her closet, all of the fun toys and books, basically removed everything that was so clearly provided by “mom” and then I was gone when she came home from school. She came home and asked her dad where all the Halloween decorations went, he said “that was all your mom” “where’s mom?” “She’s not here” “when’s she coming home?” “I don’t know, but didn’t you say you wished she was dead? You should be happy she’s gone.” I came home around 8 pm to a very tearful apologetic 6 yr old. We spent the next day putting everything back. Her teen years have been insanely rough, but she never uses death or leaving or anything else as a threat.

2019's More in Common survey showed Democrats and Republicans being roughly equally bad at understanding the other side. Anecdotally, my progressive friends are pretty clueless about Republicans, but the conservatives I meet on Twitter have a cartoon understanding of Democrats.

@HistoryBoomer You are wrong on this Carl. There have been studies on this. Conservatives usually understand how liberals think. Most liberals have no idea how conservatives think. They just think people on the right are stupid or evil.
