I agree that SpaceX is one of the best (or least bad) companies. And Starlink really makes a difference bringing internet access to people in remote locations. But is SpaceX addressing any of the most pressing issues in human society? I argue no. SpaceX isn't providing clean drinking water to those without it. SpaceX isn't feeding the hungry. SpaceX isn't housing the homeless. SpaceX isn't alleviating the suffering of the suicidal. Unfortunately there's no money to be made off of dehydrated starving homeless people who are suffering, so no capitalistic entity is ever going to do anything for people in need.

I'm not saying a moonbase wouldn't be cool, but why? Spending $20B on a moon base while ~1.5% of all human beings choose to end their lives via suicide is evil. Is it more important to build a moon base or more important that (ideally) no human being suffers to the extent that it chooses to end its life prematurely? Build moon base or reduce suffering? A moon base certainly doesn't reduce suffering.
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

NEWS: NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman announced today a $20 billion plan to build a permanent U.S. base on the Moon over the next 7 years. NASA is cancelling plans to deploy a space station in lunar orbit. “NASA is committed to achieving the near‑impossible once again, to return to the Moon before the end of President Trump’s term, build a Moon base, establish an enduring presence, and do the other things needed to ensure American leadership in space. The clock is running in this great‑power competition, and success or failure will be measured in months, not years. If we concentrate NASA’s extraordinary resources on the objectives of the National Space Policy, clear away needless obstacles that impede progress, and unleash the workforce and industrial might of our nation and partners, then returning to the Moon and building a base will seem pale in comparison to what we will be capable of accomplishing in the years ahead.” The plan: Phase One: Build, Test, Learn NASA shifts from bespoke, infrequent missions to a repeatable, modular approach. Through CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) deliveries and the LTV (Lunar Terrain Vehicle) program, the agency will increase the tempo of lunar activity, sending rovers, instruments, and technology demonstrations that advance mobility, power generation (including radioisotope heater units and radioisotope thermoelectric generators), communications, navigation, surface operations, and a wide range of scientific investigations. Phase Two: Establish Early Infrastructure With lessons from early missions in hand, NASA moves toward semi‑habitable infrastructure and regular logistics. This phase supports recurring astronaut operations on the surface and incorporates major international contributions, including JAXA’s (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) pressurized rover, and potentially other partner scientific payloads, rovers, and infrastructure/transportation capabilities. Phase Three: Enable Long‑Duration Human Presence As cargo‑capable human landing systems (HLS) come online, NASA will deliver heavier infrastructure needed for a continuous human foothold on the Moon, marking the transition from periodic expeditions to a permanent lunar base. This will include ASI’s (Italian Space Agency) Multi-purpose Habitats (MPH), CSA’s (Canadian Space Agency) Lunar Utility Vehicle, and opportun.

🤣 na I like @JOBhakdi a lot actually. But I don’t agree with every post every comment everyone invested in $TSLA makes. And I say plenty of stupid shit too. And by the way so does @elonmusk. We need to get back to a world where we don’t all have to agree on every little thing and still be friends. Still respect each other.

I do think: 1. IF Trump is truly unhinged now and going all in, this will become clear over the next two weeks and lead to a market crash. 2. After that, the market probably slowly grinds higher despite the carnage that will unfold (historically that is the case) 3. IF miraculously he times out not to be nuts and makes a TACO, we rally 4. In either case , I don’t see continued market crashing going on in April 5. That means we are then good to go for Tesla, and it’s back to the question whether Cybercab scales 6. Therefore, I am reducing risk now for next week and track Iran macro closely . Ready to go all in on Tesla (far above core position) when macro greenlights one way or the other

@JOBhakdi If Iran rages on, as I think it will, into and thru summer markets will not rebound for some time Robotaxi scaling or not

@JOBhakdi You keep saying TACO. I'm not sure if it's a language issue or you're just thick in the head. He can't chicken out on something where he's achieved all his goals, you get that don't you?

I taking some stakes off the table across the board. The Iran situation seems increasingly unhinged and I have a hard time seeing a short or mid term off-ramp. If oil goes to $200, it will get nasty. I still have some hope for some Taco, but the costs are now really really high and inertia (aka, disaster) is increasingly likely to take over. No idea how we got here, but we need to face reality. Robotaxi scaling will need at least another 4 weeks , imo (and could take much longer), so I see limited upside for the next 2 or so weeks. Of course, short term relief rallies can happen any day, but I do think the market also is losing hope for a Taco and most experienced people know what that means

@jimcramer Jim, wrong weapon. Iran doesnt need boats. One strike every few days kills war-risk insurance. No insurance. No ships. No oil. Markets are pricing Trump's words. Not reality. 👁️

Well as I said: I don't think this war changes anything fundamentally for AGI stocks. But short term, it could absolutely crash the market if this is not corrected SOON. The market is betting - like me - on TACO. Once we all lose faith in TACO, it's going to be very bad.
POD@pod74

@JOBhakdi If the market crashes Jo and the war drags on into a total disaster the Americans can't get out of. Would this effect Tesla share price in the next 18 months or is it just short term and then strong recovery. Thanks for your great work. Really respect your thoughts on Tesla.

RKLB is too highly valued for my taste. It will take forever for the fundamental to catch up. I love the company and it will have amazing growth, but the price is not right PLTR: for me, this is an ethics issue. I need more assurance that they are not doing anything bad. Not saying they are, but I am not convinced to greenlight it. Financially , it could be attractive but I am not doing a deep dive until this is resolved

@JOBhakdi He literally never had it. You’re beginning to pull a @pmarca Don’t. The world needs people to just openly admit they were very wrong about things and move on. Trump over the last decade + was always a not functional grifter. Admit you were conned and move on.

I love how everyone (including me) who was leaning pro-Trump got sucked into wild theories at the beginning of the war what the "plan" was. My conclusion was simple: TACO is the plan to get some leverage with China. Why did I think that? Because it was the ONLY possible explanation that made sense. All other explanations make no sense, aka would mean Trump totally lost it. Turns out... he totally lost it. lol. From now, the only hope is that the overwhelming pressure and rapid deterioration of political capital makes him TACO anyway. But whoever makes such an enormous mistake once could also easily keep making that mistake. This is hard to predict at this point. The only thing we know is that China, Russia, Iran and Israel - for different reasons - have a vested interested in this not ending anytime soon. For Europe, this is clearly also a disaster - but there is no doubt that European leaders will gleefully watch the US self-destruct. Their rational minds may tell them that's not that great for Europe, but the emotional dynamics are obvious.

Tough times for the market when the government is becoming unhinged. But it's important to keep a cool head: AGI is here. $TSLA, $NVDA, Mag7, $MSTR, $HOOD and other AGI stocks are positioned to explode. The Iran disaster might look bad and mark the end of American empire - but at the same time we have to ask ourselves: does this really matter? The answer is: no. AGI companies are taking over the economy and will also increasingly determine policy and geopolitical order. I am not saying this as an endorsement of a total corporate takeover, but as a simple prediction and statement of fact.
