1 is better for peace of mind imo. One and done.
2 is better if you want to build credit and can pay it off without them charging extra.

FWIW. A .45 caliber bullet has a frontal surface area 21% larger than a 10mm bullet. A large flat face, non-expanding, bullet can be an excellent choice on a 4-legged predator.
