@sheriyuo Not sure about that . Since they are lean, they can afford to pay more than the giants. There were few articles mentioning that they offer higher salary packages, like 2x to 3x higher than established Chinese tech giants.

DeepSeek probably cannot match the compensation packages from Qwen or ByteDance Seed, but the people there are held together by something else: belief in the mission, belief in Liang, and belief that they are building something that actually matters. There are no layers of management, no real titles, just Liang as your direct leader. It is not the right place if money is your only goal, because DeepSeek runs on ambition, conviction, and people who are willing to push themselves for a dream. You probably should have invested in Zhipu & Minimax*. The only AI model companies public right now, and they're both on the HKSE so pretty accessible They both IPO'ed this January one right after the other at around 6-7Bn USD, and they've both basically 7-8x'ed in valuation in less than 90 days after showing more than doubling of revenues and very healthy growth which I expect to accelerate actually with all the claw / lobster agentic usage Which one do you use? Currently I do use the Z.ai API *NOT INVESTMENT ADVICE :)

Also, instead of distilling raw outputs, you might get better results by pulling out just the reasoning steps and tool parameters, then rewriting the natural language from there. (3/3)

Not an expert, but I’m a bit skeptical of this defense approach. It seems like you could just add a filtering layer that checks tools against known good schemas and clean up the noise before training. (1/2)
Sahil@sahilypatel

Anthropic built two anti-distillation systems into Claude Code to stop competitors from training on its data One injects fake tool calls into the model's output stream to corrupt any scraped training data Another strips all tool call details into vague summaries so competitors can't reconstruct what the agent actually did

Another option would be to keep probing the model with fake tool names, if it starts confidently explaining tools that don’t exist, that’s a pretty clear red flag. (2/3)

@Jeffreyyvdb @chrysb @cursor_ai Opus works way better in CC than in Cursor. Same model/prompt, but it only fixes my bug in CC..that’s what made me switch. I’ve also been using Kimi/GLM/ Minimax with CC and Opencode, and I almost never hit the usage limits like I always did with Cursor.

i don't see how @cursor_ai survives - for $200/mo, you can essentially get unlimited usage on claude / codex that same usage would cost thousands on cursor even if cursor harness is better, the price difference is just wild

@Jeffreyyvdb @chrysb @cursor_ai Dumped Cursor more than a year ago and never looked back. Currently using Claude Code and OpenCode. You can use any models with them

@jamesqquick It can do both, but I only use it to pull designs from Figma and translate them into code.

@CarlZha It's called export control for national security in the US. Same thing, just a different name. In US, you would have been jailed.

@aaguueeroo Most make little to no money, and many on X lied about their earnings. Honestly, I think it's harder than landing a real job right now.

Why do people still use Vercel? You can just buy a $5 VPS on Hetzner and run everything yourself. More control. Lower cost. More responsibility 🤔
