Trump freed Ross. He was shrinking the bureaucracy. He cut taxes. Relaxed crypto regs. Ended or reduced anti-white discrimination. When you are ~10% of a coalition, you don't get what you want 100% of the time. Libertarians really struggle to be team players.
Michael Heise@MisesChair

@philthatremains Whats the recourse? Libertarians tried to coalition and have been betrayed. When the carrot doesnt work, then its time for the stick.

Meanwhile in Dearborn, Muslims are reportedly demanding that churches stop ringing their bells on Sunday. “This is a Muslim-majority town and you have to respect us. According to Sharia, church bells cannot be louder than our Islamic call to prayer.” Don't give them an inch!

What I keep hearing from Gen X conservatives is that they feel trapped between two collapsing realities. They grew up believing in the American Dream, worked their entire lives, and now many of them are telling me they’ve accepted they may never actually attain basic things their parents took for granted, especially home ownership. Housing prices, interest rates, taxes, insurance, and inflation have pushed stability further out of reach even for people who did everything “right.” At the same time, they’re terrified about where the country is heading geopolitically. Many are parents with teenage or young adult children, and they’re increasingly worried their kids could eventually be dragged into another foreign conflict or even a draft scenario if tensions continue escalating globally. And whether people want to acknowledge it or not, there is also growing disgust among parts of the conservative base over the level of influence Israel appears to have inside American politics. A lot of Americans feel like their own economic struggles, border concerns, and long term future are treated as secondary priorities while foreign policy interests dominate Washington. That frustration is not limited to one age group anymore. Younger conservatives feel ignored. A large portion of Gen X feels abandoned. And many are beginning to question whether the current political structure actually represents them at all. The danger for the conservative movement is that this resentment keeps compounding without anyone addressing the underlying causes. When people lose faith that the system will ever respond to them peacefully or politically, they stop trying to preserve it. That’s why the next decade feels so volatile. Not because people simply want rebellion for its own sake, but because many increasingly believe there is no place for them in the version of America being managed today. I believe there will be a second American revolution. Sad that it will probably come to that.

When Trump ran in 2016, he surged in popularity because a huge portion of America felt forgotten and invisible. His populist MAGA movement crossed generational, racial, religious, and ideological lines, building a massive and diverse coalition. What’s happening now is that many conservatives under 40 are beginning to feel the way that coalition felt in 2016: disenfranchised, ignored, and disillusioned by the system. Meanwhile, many Baby Boomers are generally satisfied. Their property values are rising, their 401(k)s are growing, and they strongly support America’s relationship with Israel. As a result, many younger conservatives are becoming increasingly unhappy not only with the direction of American politics, but also increasingly resentful toward a generation they feel they have less and less in common with — and toward an administration they believe caters to that generation at their expense. Caught in the middle is Gen X, often split between both sides entirely, or issue by issue. But one thing is becoming abundantly clear: the conservative movement 10 years from now will bear little resemblance to the conservative movement of today. As feelings of anger, betrayal, and resentment compound, most of the ideas being accepted as the standard today are going to be thrown out. The next generations are going to tear the system down. And that is the great disappointment of this moment. It could have been different. There was every opportunity to begin building the future of the conservative movement right now — by listening to younger generations and including them in discussions about the decisions being made today that will shape their lives tomorrow. It could have been a multi-generational coalition built on mutual respect, leading toward a smooth passing of the baton. Instead, this increasingly feels like an administration designed almost exclusively around the priorities of the oldest generation. It’s not sustainable. In its current form, it leaves little room for adaptation, transition, or expansion. It’s alienating. The next 10 years of the conservative movement are going to be the Wild West. And though there will be great uncertainty, there will also be great opportunity.

🚨 NEW: Scott Jennings blasts Thomas Massie on his way out the door: “Despicable, anti-Semitic, nasty, gutter politics… it needs to be condemned.” “What a way to go out. He said, ‘I’d have called Gallrein but I had to find him in Tel Aviv.’.. it needs to be stated, acknowledged and condemned because it was pretty despicable,” adds @ScottJenningsKY. President Trump didn’t just beat Thomas Massie, he exposed him.

The Trump Admin has deprioritized tracking these kinds of threats in favor of searching out "antifa" boogeymen and surveilling non-white immigrants. This is clearly still an insanely present threat to public safety, even if the admin would like the public's focus elsewhere.
