@AllonShevat The Old Celtic word ‘glana’ translates into German as ‘Glonn’. Initially name of a small river on which the community was founded later.

The problem with hanging with stoners is no one ever remembers to take pictures (or is too afraid to)…

@AllonShevat @lufthansa Better book standard eco + “legroom” seats (+8 cm) or “extra legroom” seats in exit rows for an additional charge. Works out cheaper in the end.

@TimothyDooner @two_twenty_four @Purge99 @jmkettle As a business owner, you receive costly review offers. Either positive for you, or negative toward competitors. Quality of fake reviews varies, you don't always notice it. Mistakes are usually simple—e.g., you only have local customers, but the reviews all come from Asia, ec.

@two_twenty_four @Purge99 @TimothyDooner @jmkettle Fake reviews are orchestrated professionally, making it virtually impossible to identify the people behind them or their clients = often competitors. Business owners need to be able to defend themselves against this.

@TimothyDooner @jmkettle Of course, you can leave negative reviews. In the event of a dispute, you’ll need to be able to prove that you were a real customer. Nobody wants idiots w/o product or service experience who write negative reviews for money.

@jmkettle What about on a Glassdoor? Can you submit a poor review for a company there in Germany without breaking the law?

@thetimes When referring to politicians’ wives as ‘sluts’, should the term ‘slut’ be used as a determiner or a possessive?

@AndySpence Both Brits and Germans are fleeing abroad to escape the political caricatures they themselves have elected – this seems to be the new normal in 2026 😉

@AllonShevat It’s no problem at all. Children need to learn that life has rules anyway. It’s doable. And for children’s parties/birthdays, we book children’s farms, play restaurants and the like.

My kids acted superbly as do my grandkids. All 5
Eike Spengler@EikeGS

@AllonShevat Parents often act as advocates of ill-mannered children. Teach children to behave impeccably without resorting to violence or shouting. When my little grandnephews (aged 3–5) enter a restaurant, they greet older people at the tables without being asked. Works ...
