@AdrianP_doc And all that with having the stupidest, corrupt, illiterate government and parlaments possible (with the exception of 12-13 months)… EU definitely helped, but we have not helped ourselves and we still face the same endemic problems.

FACT
in the 17 years Romania has been in the European Union
- Quality of life has increased 10 fold.
- Poverty was significantly reduced
- GDP has grown year by year
- Social mobility and education is way more accessible
- Infrastructure was built (and we could have done even more if not for the commie dingle-berries left in our politics)
- Romania is more secure and stronger as a country than it ever was in its entire history.
And that is why russia is fighting so hard to discredit and disband the EU.
A united and strong Europe means doom for russia.

@JDeweyHughes @Michael_McT1 Owe the West?! Bloody hell, that’s heartless to say the least. It’s Ukrainians who die to protect us and our comfortable, lethargic way of living. It’s Ukraine getting destroyed, it’s Ukrainian children dying by Russian shelling.

@GoodwinMJ He is definitely not somebody we should consider as a positive example, on the contrary.
English

@GoodwinMJ Well Matt, not the best choice here! Orban is leading a clearly undemocratic regime close to dictatorship, has very close ties with Putin who he still supports, criticises the EU all the time, but takes their money, blocks the aids to Ukraine and is revisionist re Romania /1
English

@GoodwinMJ Plus, he’s involved in quite a lot of corruption and dictatorial ways of spending public money (e.g. building a football stadium in the village he was born in). He is against free speech and opposition and did ever in his power to silence critical voices. /2

@Shaheer__Tahir @sentdefender Funny how the muslims are claiming and screaming for peace, with total ignorance of the brutal damage and practices used by their own people.
English

@sentdefender Ballistic missile impacts have been reported on Israel.
But their defence system is quite good which intercepted the majority of attacks. They need to stop the war now and bring peace.
English

The Spokesman of the Israel Defense Force, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari has made a Statement reporting that 99% of the Threats that were launched tonight against Israel by Iran were Intercepted which is a Very Significant Strategic Achievement; he further states that out of 170 One-Way “Suicide” Drone and 30 Land-Attack Cruise Missiles launched by Iran, 0 were able to enter Israeli Airspace and 25 of the Cruise Missiles were Downed by the Israeli Air Force. Alongside that, of the 120 Medium-Range Ballistic Missiles only a few Impacted the Territory of Israel having Struck the Area of Nevatim Airbase in the Negev Desert causing Minor Damage to Infrastructure; however despite the Damage, the Base is still Operational and Preparing to receive the 3 Squadron of F-35Is that are Stationed at the Base and have been Airborne tonight conducting Interceptions.

@visegrad24 Never thought I would ever say this, but in these terrible times, our ways of living, society and culture must prevail. 🏴

@peza2709 @LDN_gov @MayorofLondon Sorry to hear! We left at 11:15 as there were still thousands of people waiting to get in via the pink queue. I mean you have like half a million ppl if not more to get in and you think you can do it in 2 hours?! Ridiculous!! Waiting for a refund!
English

@LDN_gov @ElCoasa @MayorofLondon So at 1145 following a sudden rush towards the bridge you closed the gate. Hundreds if not thousands unable to get in. It was dangerous with no stewards around but we all saw the gates close. What went wrong? Train/Hotel A waste?
English

#LondonFireworks @MayorofLondon - an hour and 15, same place, Australia house, haven’t moved an inch!!

English

@LDN_gov @MayorofLondon The question is why is it like this?! Was Mr Mayor in dire need of money and sold more tickets than normal? Or is it another prime example of @UKLabour management?!
English

@ElCoasa @MayorofLondon We're working on getting everyone in the queues through as quickly as possible. All gates are open and we appreciate your patience. ^CD
English

@floatylites @MayorofLondon Same here at Australia house for pink / zone 3. @MayorofLondon that’s what happens when you have populists running things!

@sumlenny Never in my 10 years in London and in the UK I have ever expected natives to pronounce my names as my mum does and I never got offended whey they didn’t. I am not 100% accurate in my pronunciation of their names, so how can the reverse be upsetting?
English

@sumlenny Is mispronouncing one’s name now a racist thing?! Sergej is not a very German name, same as my names, Cosmin Cãlin, are not English. How can a Brit correctly pronounce letters and sounds that do not exist in their language and that they have never heard before?! /1
English

I am a migrant, I came to Germany as an adult, I speak German with my accent and I do mistakes (who cares? I give live TV comments in four languages, three of them I learned as an adult; I use my mother tongue Russian neither as primary language for work, nor in bed).
Within my 20+ years in Germany, I lived in a conservative-run land of Hesse, and in a green-socdem-run Berlin. Authorities in the latter one are way more anti-migrant, this is my personal opinion. When I said this to my friends from Hesse, they looked surprised. They were Germans and never had any experience with the local migration offices, so they believed, Berlin would treat migrants better because it is left. It does not.
I also worked at a Green foundation, and felt ausgegrenzt and discriminated all the time. I will not go into details here, but misnaming, mentioning my migration background without any reason, and other cases were routine.
It is not about how people name or position themselves politically. It is about how they act. Those who call themselves "progressive" are very often racist hypocrites in their daily life. This is my personal experience, but I trust it.
