It's a proper party atmosphere at the City Ground 🔥 🎉 These #NFFC fans spoke to @MaxBScott after their Europa League semi-final first leg win over Aston Villa 🌳

@_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports At the end of the day, it's only half time. BOL next week
English

@ElTomasso2 @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports As if you would call the officials wrong for getting this wrong about your own team 🤣 give over. A huge difference between a clear challenge for the ball, and following through with excessive force. Let’s leave it here. Good luck in the 2nd leg, should be a belter. 👍

"A huge, HUGE mistake" ❌
Unai Emery was NOT HAPPY with VAR after they refused to advise the referee to look at Elliot Anderson's tackle on Ollie Watkins 👀

@duncanlowen @_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports Anderson clearly did make contact with the ball first though
English

@ElTomasso2 @_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports You keep saying he got the ball first? You are showing yourself up as not knowing the rules. As Emery said, he could have broken Watkins ankle.
English

@_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports Again I respectully disagree. The difference is you want to make clear challenges on the ball a thing of the past, I dont. The game is better for them. The officials got it right here I'd be the 1st to call them out otherwise
English

@ElTomasso2 @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports How is it incorrect? Are you seriously telling me when you “win” the ball, and then follow through on your opponent to connect on his ankle like that isn’t “excessive force”? you would be raging if it was other way round and you know it.
English

@_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports The rule of “excessive force” was broken--------incorrect
English

@ElTomasso2 @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports The rule of “excessive force” was broken. Like I said, if the roles were reversed you would be fuming too. Touching the ball (with zero control of it), doesn’t not outweigh excessive force. Look at all the thoughts of the experts - all agree with this.
English

@duncanlowen @_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports Sadly you're right. The bigger scourge on the game these days are players making a meal out of tackles when they should know better. Thats the difference between now and the 80's. Leaves the officials with a tough job
English

@ElTomasso2 @_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports You clearly don't know the rules. It's not the 80s anymore. 👍🏻.
English

@_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports I respectfully disagree. The rules matter. Anderson made contact with the ball and the manner of the contact rolled into what may have looked like a heavy challenge, but it wasn't. No rules broken, ergo no need for Var intervention.
English

@ElTomasso2 @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports That’s irrelevant. Catching it with his studs does not override the excessive force these challenges are judged on. If this was the other way round you would be crying for a red, it’s that simple.
English

@_Symmo @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports Anderson made contact with the ball first. The rules were applied
English

@ElTomasso2 @footballontnt @Becky_Ives_ @tntsports Big difference between saying ref was good and VAR missed a clear error. Whether you agree or not, this is consistently given as a red .
English

Should be a red card for Elliot Anderson.

This is disgusting, and the fact that he thinks getting a waiter sacked is a flex is very telling.
He should have asked his friend who owns the restaurant to raise the wage.
