The hatred directed at Jews and at Israel did not begin on October 7, and it did not begin with Hamas. Antisemitism is the oldest hatred. In our time, it is fueled by Iran and carried out by terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. Jewish history teaches vigilance, but also resilience. Again and again, the Jewish people faced those who sought to harm them. Again and again, they endured. That same resilience is still very present today, even while families are spending nights in shelters and living with uncertainty. Our spirit remains strong.

The terrorist in the West Bloomfield, MI attack - Ayman Mohamad Ghazaleh - sent his sister in Lebanon a photo of himself holding his weapon just one day before the rampage. This is what “globalizing the intifada” looks like. And if you think the threat stops with Jews, consider the lessons of the September 11 attacks.

In the aftermath of the attack on Temple Israel, we are reminded that community is stronger than destruction. This is a space meant for prayer, for learning, and for children to grow. Now more than ever, it is important to come together. To stand united and support one another. We stand with the Temple Israel community as they rebuild.

Tonight, a suicide drone struck near the synagogue in Odessa, causing significant damage. Iranian drones are attacking civilians in Europe and in the Middle East. This attack follows massive Russian drone and missile strikes on cities across Ukraine this week, in which many civilians were killed and wounded, and civilian institutions and infrastructure were damaged. Our condolences to all who have lost their loved ones, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Iranian regime deliberately uses cluster munitions to target civilians - Jews and Arabs alike - with missiles designed to cause wide-scale indiscriminate harm.

The Iranian regime's missiles struck Jerusalem. Christian, Muslim & Jewish Holy sites were impacted. While Israel remains committed to protecting these holy sites for all, the Iranian regime continues to deliberately target them.

These are not fireworks. They are Iranian cluster bombs. A single missile splits in the air and scatters dozens of explosive bomblets across a wide area, designed to hit as many people and homes as possible. This is what it looks like when a regime fires weapons meant to spread maximum destruction over civilian neighborhoods.

When missiles are fired at cities, the intent is clear: fear, devastation, and bloodshed. While Israel targets military infrastructure used to carry out these attacks, Iran deliberately targets families and communities.

Preventing Iran from advancing toward nuclear military capability is not only an Israeli interest or an American interest. It is a global one.
