As a cardiologist, one of Dr. Aws Almufleh’s passions is educating about heart failure. He says it’s one of the most under-recognized and insufficiently treated chronic conditions, with approx. 10,000 people living with it in the #ygk community. More: bit.ly/3PhQUOS

@mmamas1973 Totally agree, this is the ethical way of conducting research. In my group, we have published many papers lead by medical students and undergrads. It doesn’t matter what your degree/level is, if you contribute to a paper you will be rewarded.

Any junior doctor / medical student that leads a project in my group/ writes it = first author. Any junior doctor that contributes to a Projects but doesn't lead it = authorship. Don't work with anyone who doesn't offer this. Don't accept anything else- irrespective of what people may tell you. If you don't value yourself / efforts no one else will.
Dr Tanya@veggieequallife

When involving more junior colleagues in projects you are supervising, it's key to be transparent with them 1. They will be accredited for their hard work. In what formats. 2. ☝️ Please don't take advantage of more junior colleagues as someone to do your projects for you.

💥1st - they should stop rejecting papers without an appropriate review by using the excuse of “low priority“. 💥2nd - nobody should be allowed to be Associate Editor in more than 1 journal at a time. When this happens, they become gatekeepers who rig the editorial game

An open question to all authors and readers of scholarly articles: how can a editor-in-chief boost the inclusivity and equity of a journal?

Draping an obese patient from side to side and not from top to bottom skews the midline sideways, even if you open the bone dead center. You can do a great operation, but may have some explaining to do at the post-op visit in clinic…
