It sucks that when it comes to redistricting Wisconsin COI and partisan proportionality are mutually exclusive. Something like this is ideal COI-wise but horrible proportionally. Either you have to intentionally draw out super blue portions of Milwaukee and Madison or accept 6-2

The fetishization of not splitting counties is just a cover for wanting gerrymandered maps. Literally nothing would change if Dane or Milwaukee was 4 separate counties. In fact if you redistricted solely on cities, my districts actually fairly follow cities to a T.

This is so disingenuous. Sure if you gerrymander & crack Dane & Milwaukee you can get a 4-4 map. But if you don't split counties & cities & keep Dane County (pop. 561,504) & Milwaukee (pop. 577,222) whole you can't do it.

You can’t even chalk up that race to turnout differential. A turnout differential would have produced something like a 10 point dem win, not 25. That showed big persuasion on the Dem side

Democrats won the PSC race by 25 points last year. Turns out that may not have been an anomaly. Post-Trump GOP doesn’t know how to turn out voters.

The difference between 2022 and 2026 is that there weren’t competitive statewide races in 2022. We have an open governors race this year and it makes sense democrats are probably undecided on who they want to vote for.

If N.J. Democrats are really serious about mid-decade redistricting, they’ll need buy-in from the party’s House incumbents, whose own districts may need to be substantially reshaped. Still early, but most N.J. House Dems I talked to are open to it. newjerseyglobe.com/redistricing/a…

Orange County Court says Kars4Kids can no longer run its jingle ads in California, after a lawsuit alleging that donations do not go to underprivileged CA kids but instead to funding trips to Israel for Orthodox Jewish 17/18yos in New York and New Jersey.
