This account primarily re-tweets posts from Toronto City Council candidates and news about municipal issues in the city. Tweets from current city councillors that are not explicitly campaign-related are not retweeted. Incumbents already have too many advantages.

Richmond and Adelaide are two of the most important streets in our downtown. And poor city planning has driven the time tax on residents way up. Here's my Fix It Friday plan to get the intersection moving again. Because a city we can be proud of is one that gets you where you're going. Join us and fight Toronto's time tax: bradford26.ca/petitions/cong…

He’s a councillor in the nearby area. Lives in neighbourhood. He’s an elected member. He also told real story there. He’s entitled to speak the same as anybody else. There were 6 people shot at a community festival after all but narrative was, strangely, how Toronto is so safe
Mark Towhey@towhey

THE SECONDS BEFORE this clip are instructive. Colle bullies his way into the light and demands attention so he can prance on TV to produce an election ad-ready tough guy clip. Because the deaths of 2 people, wounding and trauma of others is all about him. #Crass #Classless

Remember, John Tory endorsed Brad to be the same kind of councillor as his “fiscally responsible” Beaches predecessor who, ironically, voted for the current “hybrid” Gardiner plan. Can we please not elect yet another #AusterityTO member to council here in Beaches-East York?

This candidate has been out canvassing with people who used to work for Brad/are supporting Brad, including a Strategy Corp VP (in case you wonder why he’s never spoken out against the MegaSpa at Ontario Place) and this spokesperson for ABC Toronto.

Apparently this candidate has been telling people at the doors that she would bring back the Gardiner’s Lakeshore ramp. This would mean moving backwards, overturning a decade of urban planning, not to mention ripping up roads, bike lanes, and green spaces. #topoli

/1 On the right holding the sign here is Kelly Aizicowitz from @abctoronto_, campaigning for Natalie Johnson in Beaches East York. If you want to replace Brad with more of the same useless representation we've had here for years, these people are for you.

3/ and people I talk to who have met with her can't seem to figure it out either. It's the same kind of power-hungry campaign that Bradford runs-- no real moral centre, nothing that defines them other than a desire to win. Politicans with a capital P.

2/ In a city where people are dying in the heat and in the cold, where children are going hungry and where cops are being rewarded with inflated budgets despite widespread corruption, Natalie Johnson is prioritizing traffic. I can't seem to find what she cares about beyond that,

@JPScoopZ Two guys taking shots at each other and hitting bystanders is not a "mass shooting". A mass shooting is where a shooter intends to kill as many people as possible. The "mass" is the target, not the environment. The way you're using it every shooting in public is a mass shooting.

Jeez Joe, @joe_warmington Homeless, mentally & addicted people are not « zombies », they are guys like my brother who skidded onto the street after our Dad died. What saved him was a tiny room, a job at GoodWill, help from family and the United Church. Even then he died at 39..

A heat warning has been issued for #Toronto starting tomorrow. ☀️ Stay hydrated and try to keep cool. Check on family, friends and neighbours. If you know someone without A/C, invite them into your place if you have a cool space. Take care of each other.

I face more ideological resistance from students today than I did 10 years ago. Here's what I mean. Yesterday, I had a group of 14-year-olds argue with me about capitalization. Many of them rarely use capital letters correctly in their writing, and they genuinely believe capitalization is unnecessary, or even "dumb." When I told them that I take points off for ignoring capitalization, they insisted it was unfair. Ten years ago, I almost never had conversations like this. Students might have forgotten the rules. They might have been careless. But they rarely argued that the rules themselves didn't matter.
