In a recent SkyNews.ch interview, our CEO Sascha Hardegger discusses why drones are starting to move from experimental technology to practical infrastructure. For years, drones have shown impressive technical capabilities. But for them to become part of everyday operations, three things need to align: • Aircraft capable of meaningful range and payload • Regulatory frameworks enabling BVLOS operations • Real-world logistics needs, such as medical transport or supplying remote locations Platforms like the Aero-200 tilt-wing drone illustrate this shift. By combining vertical take-off with efficient fixed-wing flight, they enable long-distance missions with meaningful payload capacity, opening new possibilities for critical logistics and infrastructure support. As Sascha notes in the interview: “Drones will become part of our everyday life.” The question now is not if, but how quickly these operations will scale. We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of a series of demo flights of the “SKYDRIVE” (SkyDrive Model SD-05), conducted in collaboration with Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd., Kanematsu Corporation, and Skyports, over the five days between February 24 (Tue) and February 28 (Sat), 2026. This project broke new ground as Japan's first comprehensive feasibility study to evaluate integrated ground and flight operations, aimed at supporting the future commercialization of urban eVTOL transport. Hover is the most energy-intensive phase of flight. So we electrified it. The Cavorite X7 uses battery-powered electric motors to deliver clean, high-power vertical lift, reducing emissions where it matters most. Then it transitions to wing-borne cruise powered by a hybrid turbine engine, delivering the range, speed, and payload required for real-world missions.

Continued strong momentum in our 2026 piloted flight test programme, maximising the return of clear skies in the UK. This weekend, our Chief Test Pilot Simon Davies completed a key flight profile: conventional take-off before a controlled deceleration to deploy the rear propellers for acceleration, then re-stowing them for a conventional landing. The result? Smooth transitions. All four rear propellers deployed and stowed as designed. More valuable data recorded. We continue to move toward completing full piloted transition under UK Civil Aviation Authority oversight, a critical de-risking milestone for Valo. Every test moves us closer.
