@rationalyankee The whole post started with the wrong foot, we do not have a good manager that can win the ship, sure the team will win lots of games, but when it matter, he’ll do some analytics bullshit and crap the bed.
As far as Goldy, I agree, the question is: who made the roster ?
English

We do have a good manager. But that’s besides the point.
Rosario is the best pinch hitter off the bench for LHP. Goldschmidt is 38, has no defensive versatility and the only position he plays is occupied by Ben Rice.
Are the Yankees really going to waste a roster spot all year on a guy who is the second best pinch hitting option for LHP and basically nothing else?
Either the Yankees need to still believe that playing Goldschmidt over Rice vs LHP makes the team better, or Goldschmidt isn’t worth carrying on the roster. I think it’s that simple.

@rationalyankee If we had a good manager (and we dont) you can make use of a guy like Goldschmidt as a pinch hitter against lefties since we have tons of lefty bats that cant hit them. Example wells up in a big spot in 9th. PH goldy. Insert him at 1b double switch move rice back to C. Etc etc

@Elflaco_RM Yankees pinstripes is its own thing tho - that defines the Yankees. Grey road jerseys don’t. And time doesn’t equal tradition.
English

@GODJ2 That’s ok, they don’t need to buy into the traditions or even care about them, play on the shit the team gives you, win or lose, and leave the team when that time comes, why in the fuck would we change anything for some dude that came here one year, SUCKED, and left ? ludicrous.
English

People have to realize tradition isn’t as important to players. Sure they buy into it when they are here, understand it, but they aren’t fans. They didn’t grow up die hard Yankee fans, their parents didn’t, their grandparents didn’t, they don’t look at this like we do.

@levert_szn @ShaunMorash That’s actually the point, the Yankees ARE above everything, or at least they used to, but it will change because Hal hates that his father loved the team more than him, it will be a sad day for true Yankees fans.
English

@ShaunMorash if the celtics/lakers/packers/steelers/cowboys can do alternates, so can the yankees. yankees aren’t above anything.
English

@MissYankee No they don’t, stop your “I wanna be cool” crap, keep making tic toc’s and leave TRADITIONS alone.
English

@NickTurturro1 Hal Steinbrenner is slowly destroying every piece of Yankee history, can’t put a championship on the table, facial standard gone, now he’s going after the uniforms, next will name on jerseys, after that will be colorful uniforms… it’s an abomination.
English

@GinaMuscato Pinstripes are not unique to the Yankees either, Cubs were the very first team to wear them in 1907, Mets wear them, Phillies wear them, SD wear them.
The tradition of the away uniform for the Yankees comes from the fact that they have used the same for over a century.
English

@Elflaco_RM I’m well aware of what it means. It’s not a yankees tradition when a bunch of other teams wear road grays. It’s not unique in any way. Maybe next you can look up logic on google. 🙄
English

@MaxMannis The HORRIBLE contracts (I fear Jazz Chisholm Jr will be the next bad contract), the constant trashing of the Yankees traditions.
English

@MaxMannis I hate Boston with a passion, but 2 rings in the last 15 years, and Hal zero rings, like, who gives a F if he lets someone walk if you have championships.
As a Yankees fan for almost 30 years, what I’m sick of is the 94 win-ring less season, the analytics crap…

English

Yankees fans can have some bones to pick with Hal Steinbrenner, don't get me wrong. But I hope they're looking at John Henry with the Red Sox as an example of just how bad it could be.
Imagine the outrage if the Yankees let Judge walk, ran his replacements out of town, and then constructed one of the worst offenses in baseball while jacking up ticket/concession prices so that Hal could funnel money into his new soccer team. Absolutely shameless. Fans should stop going to games.
