@BrandyZadrozny and made diagnoses of autism without a license to practice medicine, so they probably didn't all even have autism.

Interesting fact: David Geier, the researcher Kennedy has hired at HHS (and now at CDC) to reinvestigate the autism/vaccine link? He experimented on autistic children by ... giving them puberty blockers. respectfulinsolence.com/2006/02/23/why…

When I see all these senators trying to lecture and "gotcha" Bobby Kennedy today all I can think is: You all support off-label, untested, and irreversible hormonal "therapies" for children, mutilating our kids and enriching big pharma. You're full of shit and everyone knows it.

@DoctorPerin My therapist and mentor always summed up this idea as "curiosity trumps criticism" and it's been tremendously helpful personally and in my therapeutic work with others. Probably a top-5 concept.

@LifeAfloat Congratulations, Nick! From a psychiatrist who has observed you from afar, you have much to be proud of and I have mentioned your story to others on the road to recovery. You serve as an inspiration.

Four images from the final day of my adventure. The weather was perfect. The scenery incredibly beautiful and the heather glorious. I’m so fortunate to have enjoyed this amazing three month experience.

@DoctorPerin Yes, the “stages” terminology seems to confuse things for patients if not clinicians. I like explaining it as “aspects” which doesn’t imply linearity.

The Kübler-Ross model of grief is great. I’ve not found the experience to be linear, especially where acceptance is concerned. My own perspective is closer to the Dual Process Theory, where we bounce between the expression of grief and building a new life in a different world.

@DoctorPerin Not gonna lie, I've only seen the ability to accept things and not let it get to you ~ after the 5 stages of grief is complete. Needing to confront the past, let go, so good things can come into our lives. Hopefully helpful guide ~ medium.com/bedcloud/a-gui…

I saw a thing on Reddit where you ask ChatGPT to generate an image of your most inappropriate match so I gave it a go.

It's amazing to watch so many people interpreting the election as vindication for whatever pet cause they're pushing. None of them ask themselves whether the fact that there are 100 versions of the story being told on here might undermine the idea that their one theory is right.

I know many people need emotional grounding now. Unfortunately I am too ill to go live on YouTube as I had hoped. I will be with you when I can. If you are freaking out, please focus on buffers, self-protection, breathing, and history history history for perspective.

I mean, Godwin's Law raises a legitimate point, but when people are actually calling themselves Nazis at Trump's rallies, whatcha gonna do?

I'm putting together a module for 3rd-year philosophy undergraduates on the general theme of "Politics, truth, and ideology". What would people include on the reading list? I'm interested in classic and modern works, as well as scientific in addition to philosophical ones.

@KRaymondHa You might already be aware of Alice Marwick, but if not, I think you'd be interested in this ethnography of online conspiracy culture & "populist expertise" that finds that it's not always as epistemically vicious as you might expect. tiara.org/down-the-rabbi…
