@ElizaFevWrites @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith “thornsteps” and “wisp-shushes”!
“paddening of paws, hidden drag of claws”
sky “heavy as a butcher’s satchel”
Stunning made-up words and metaphors, Elizabeth! Marvelous, dramatic writing! You captured the suspense and the horror.

My contribution to this week's @TopTweetTuesday is a poem inspired by Red Riding Hood. Max 100 words. At least two made-up words. Metaphors! Thanks for the prompt @MatthewMCSmith

English

@ElizaFevWrites @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith I love the attention to light in the opening stanza, Liz. The sounds are fab, especially ‘the paddening of leaves, the hidden drag of claws’, and how brilliant is that central simile!! 🐺

@ElizaFevWrites @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith My first thought for this week’s challenge was red riding hood but now I’ve read this, I’m glad I chose something else(!). So much wonderful sound and imagery here - ‘ribboning her way’ 👌!

@ElizaFevWrites @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith Great sounds and sensory details in this red riding hood piece 👏👏👏 love winding thornsteps 👏👏👏
English

@ElizaFevWrites @TopTweetTuesday Ah, this is yet another poem that tackles the challenge head-on, bundling it like a boss into that butcher’s satchel. Imaginative flair right through Liz.

It’s a children’s story and fairy tale theme today on @TopTweetTuesday!
I went for a sequel of sorts to The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
Thanks @MatthewMCSmith for another great week! All the best everyone!

@AliceStainer @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith Feathertongue and heatherspeech are glorious! I love this poem and all it conjures.

Happy New Year all you @TopTweetTuesday & indomitable editor & host @MatthewMCSmith. Here's to another spanking year of poetry. This is my attempt at the prompt. Perhaps not quite what you envisaged, Matt, but the best I could do in a short time. Look forward to reading others 💜

@eliot_north @TopTweetTuesday @blackboughpoems @MatthewMCSmith 'leg twigged in two' is such a great line!

I've revisited an old poem, a local Valencian legend / fairytale for @TopTweetTuesday . Our village Beniarbeig is dominated by the mountain range of Segària, the outline of which looks like the upturned face of a man frozen by a siren's stare

@costan07 @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith Ah, this took me right back to reading as a kid! And a powerful message.

Good morning, all. On Saturday mornings,
I always enjoyed listening to Uncle Mac on ‘Children’s Favourites’ and my narrative is based on I story I love. It’s within the word limit and uses a number of made up words. Herewith, musical goats
