Their presence signaled something important: the work happening in this community matters, & it is being noticed at the highest levels. The momentum & credibility we’ve built happened because of you. Throughout 2025, Detroit Blockchain Collective brought people together across backgrounds & experience levels. From hosting conversations with federal regulators shaping the future of digital assets, to spotlighting mission-driven organizations doing globally recognized work, to partnering with entrepreneurial hubs born right here in Detroit. We created space for education, connection, & opportunity, and in doing so, strengthened Michigan’s position in the broader digital-asset ecosystem. As proud as we are of what we’ve built, the work is far from finished. Ecosystem building is never “done.” It evolves, it expands, and it demands continued curiosity, integrity, & leadership. We enter 2026 energized, focused, & committed to deepening education, strengthening partnerships, supporting responsible policy, & creating even more pathways for people to participate in this space. As Michigan positions itself in the crypto economy, understanding where policy is headed matters. We hosted Shanelle Jackson at Crypto Connect last week for a conversation on crypto policy and its impact on Michigan. Shanelle is a former Michigan State Representative and former Speaker Pro Tempore, member of the House Appropriations Committee, and current Congressional candidate for the 12th District. With 21 years of policy and legislative experience, she brought real depth to understanding why this matters for our state. Detroit Blockchain Collective exists to build a stronger Michigan crypto community grounded in education and engaging dialogue. Thanks to everyone who helped make this night a success. ICYMI: Platform & Treasury Council Meeting – May 21, 2026 The 38th Platform & Treasury Council meeting covered a range of updates spanning network development, web unification, governance, and ecosystem growth. Network & Development Updates The developer team shared updates centered on security hardening across the network and execution layers, reflecting the team’s continued emphasis on delivering a secure and stable mainnet. Expanded RPC endpoints and improved node onboarding tooling have been rolled out in response to validator feedback, alongside the implementation of signed, verifiable releases for node operators. Real-world stress testing is ongoing with growing node participation, and active engagement continues with dApp developers and infrastructure providers on testnet. Third-party audits are in the process of being scheduled, with some architectural refinements currently underway. Unified Web Presence The new unified web presence is progressing well. The design phase is nearing completion with all major pages and layouts finalized, and content finalization is currently underway with a deadline at the end of next week. Two color palette options are being evaluated for the homepage. The build phase – a full custom, mobile-first development effort – is expected to kick off shortly after content is locked. Key Proposals Discussed A Contractor Engagement Framework proposal was presented, aimed at formalizing short-term contractor engagements. The framework is designed to provide operational flexibility while maintaining proper governance oversight and approvals. Telcoin Explorer Update Work on the Telcoin Explorer continues, with ongoing fixes, scaling improvements, and backend preparations. That’s a wrap on Bitcoin Pizza Day 2026! Thanks to @Pizza_DAO for hosting & inviting us to partner with them in Detroit. With @standwithcrypto’s support, hundreds of Bitcoin pizza parties worldwide were hosted last night 🤭🍕🟠🎉 Why this annual pizza celebration, you ask? In 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas with 10,000 Bitcoin, then worth about $41. That was the first real-world Bitcoin transaction, the moment it moved from theory to actual commerce. Since then, Bitcoin became real. Not as an experiment, but as a thriving network that millions rely on. Stand with Crypto exists to protect and build on that. And PizzaDAO makes sure we never forget where it started.
