First V8 C-Class AMG Mercedes W202 C43 used the M113 4.3L V8, making it the first C-Class fitted with a Mercedes V8. That alone separates it from the C36 AMG before it. It wasn’t manual, but AMG changed the 5-speed automatic for sharper shifting and better high-rpm behaviour. More subtle than modern AMG No huge arches, no aggressive modern styling. It looked close to a normal C-Class, but had a V8 underneath. That is what makes it different from newer AMG cars.
