This isn't true and the fact that homeschool parents still tout this is embarassing. Homeschool kids, in most states, are required to take zero tests. Only college bound homeschool kids end up taking them. Whereas every public school student does. This is called sampling bias.

Homeschooled students frequently outperform public school students on the SAT by 15 to 30 percentile points higher than public school public school students. Check out something called "unschooling" and ask yourself why any kids go to school in the first place. Not homeschooling. For all the failed nursing women: HOW long did you study to nurse your child? Did you attend La Leche meetings? Did you go to a lactation consultant? Did you think it was going to be as simple as sneezing? A natural bodily function with no knowledge or thought? If there was no store bought formula, what would you have done? I used to think this was a problem, but I fly so much on short flights and the flight attendants are rarely able to get from the front to back of the plane before they have to stop to pick up trash and prep to land on these short flights.
