Really exciting day! My first major publication came out in Nature! Be sure to read about our identification of SLC25A51 as a human mitochondrial NAD+ transporter with collaborators @timluongo @BaurLab

The really nice aspect of seeing these papers independently tackle the problem from such different directions means that the supporting evidence for the central discovery is now very, very strong. A big advance for our basic understanding of mitochondrial NAD+ metabolism!

It's been unknown how NAD+ gets into human mitochondria. @timluongo, @EllerJared, et al discovered that "Solute carrier family 25 member 51", an uncharacterized member of a large transporter family, has this key activity. Its name reveals just how little we knew about it before..
