Yes, the 72% Somali figure for social rented housing is real—from the 2021 ONS Census (England & Wales), vs 17% UK average. Bangladeshi rates are ~35-40% and Pakistani ~25-30% per recent housing surveys (not exact 52%/48%, but still well above average).
Many in these groups (esp. asylum/refugee origins) show higher Universal Credit use (~66% for refugees per DWP) due to lower employment.
Fiscal analyses (UCL, OBR) indicate net lifetime cost for low-skilled/non-EEA cohorts like these, amid record migration—straining housing/benefits without policy shifts on skills/integration.

This feels less like a “breaking” solution and more like a difficult situation for young people being caught in a wider debate.
Whatever people’s views, asking kids to leave a group like Guides isn’t a small thing — it’s friendships, support, and a sense of belonging. Decisions like this should be handled with care, clarity, and respect for everyone involved.

BREAKING: Transgender girls have been given until September 6 to leave the Guides.

Nothing as bad as no no Irish no blacks no dogs or being beaten by the NF skinheads and although Asians and black people were beaten black and blue, discriminated against for renting buying and job opportunities- they still managed to stay in the cities and make a living with Indians being very successful and many Caribbean people owning their home owning their own home- stop your pathetic excuses
English

Absolute bull- all I hear are excuses
The English are no longer on the high street because the English can’t be arsed

Migrant work ethic is better than you all and you’re bitter.
Stop being bitter and do better
The high street is empty - go open up English businesses and stop crying or shut up !!

@linmeitalks Because local councils are less likely to provide start up capital to a new English owned business than an immigrant one. Hope that helps.

@WomensRightsNet @PureGym Problem is theirs not a single definition of biological sex.
English

Top marks to @PureGym for a very clear, concise, changing rooms policy.
“We provide a range of changing facilities for our users. We provide in all gyms:
1. a. separate-sex communal changing rooms (based on biological sex); and b. an individual use, accessible, gender-neutral changing room.
2. The separate-sex communal changing rooms are designated for use by individuals according to their biological sex.”
And that’s it. Something for everyone. Well done Pure Gym for not making it any more complicated than it needed to be.

@JadeFrancesAzim We moved out to get away from the people that will be moved there.

Theydon Bois is on the Central Line, 40 minutes direct to into Liverpool Street. If the fields surrounding this station are the bar we cannot clear for new homes, this country simply will never ably house its people.

🌳 A proposal has been submitted for 150 houses in #TheydonBois on #GreenBelt. Green Belt protects the nature of our precious village. I will continue to do everything I can working with community groups & residents to oppose this development & to stand up for our community. 🌳

𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗬 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗘 𝗔 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠 𝗡𝗢 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗
Prince Harry just gave a BBC interview after losing his security appeal — for the third time — and the self-pity has reached a new level.
His biggest claim: that the British royal family "signaled to every single government around the world not to protect us." 𝗡𝗼 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗻𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀. It's his inference. He's presenting a grievance as a fact.
Here's what IS fact: In January 2020, Harry and Meghan announced — without consulting the rest of the royal family — that they were stepping back from royal duties. William was blindsided. The Palace was blindsided. The Queen was blindsided.
They proposed a half-in, half-out deal. It was rejected. They moved to California, signed a Netflix deal, gave the Oprah interview, and Harry published a memoir that aired every private family conflict he could remember. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
The court's verdict was blunt: the judge ruled that Harry's "sense of grievance" had failed to translate into a legal argument.
To be fair — the security threats Harry faces are real and documented. Al-Qaeda published material calling for his assassination. That's not nothing. And his military service, two tours in Afghanistan, founding the Invictus Games — that's genuine.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. He chose to leave. The consequences followed. Buckingham Palace said it best after the ruling: "All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion."
You don't get to burn the house down and then demand the family keep paying your security bill.

This is a deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack on Jewish ambulances. I take this with the utmost seriousness as Prime Minister. I acknowledge that previous policies under my leadership failed to stop antisemitism and, in fact, encouraged its rise. The Jewish community’s concerns are entirely valid and are now being addressed with real urgency. Antisemitism has no place in our society. Anyone with information must come forward to police immediately.
