Cleaning out my mother's things today and I hit the jackpot—a whole cache of what I can only assume are the tiniest spoons in existence. I've spent the last hour trying to figure out their purpose, and I'm genuinely baffled. 🤔

@ImJBarrios @sciencegirl It’s an amazing country with a fascinating culture and really lovely people. I visited as part of my 50th birthday celebrations. Take a trip to the Tokyo Tower while you are there. Have a great time 🇯🇵

A simple moment that reflects a bigger culture: in Japan, a student crosses the road and every car stops. In return, the student gives a bow to say thank you

Fraggle needs your attention and believe me if you’re in the gds centre he’ll get it from you 😅 He hates being in a kennel, he’s been locked up for so long (including previous protectoras) he’s had enough. He’s starting to bite the bars in an attempt to let us know it’s his turn to find a home. He loves being out on a walk and playing in the park here of course it’s the way it is with hundreds of dogs he has to wait his turn. Fraggle is 2yrs old and has never experienced what every dog should… can we make it happen for him? ❤️ Please share scruffy pants Fraggle and let’s get him a home ❤️❤️

BBQ RULES: We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity . When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion: (1) The woman buys the food. Ensuring she is educated in the correct cuts of steak to purchase. (2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert. (3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand. (4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman. Here comes the important part: (5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL. (6) The woman goes inside to organise the plates and cutlery. (7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat Important again: (8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN. (9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table. (10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes And most important of all: (11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts. (12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ', and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women. 🤣🤣

Footage showing thousands of crows flying across the Tel Aviv skyline is going viral! This is considered by many to be a "harbinger of doom” as it is often followed by total catastrophe. An extremely rare sight that no country ever wants to see.

I started this blanket the day after my stroke. Couldn't hold the hook properly for the first two months, my right hand just hung there useless while my physical therapist kept saying "small movements, we'll get there." I'm fifty-three years old and I had to relearn how to grip a crochet hook like I was five. My daughter wanted to put me in assisted living. Said I couldn't take care of myself anymore, said she was worried. I understood, I really did, but the idea of giving up my independence because my brain betrayed me made me want to die. So I told her I'd prove I could still function. I'd make the most complex blanket pattern I could find, and if I finished it, she'd let me stay in my house. Found this Irish lace pattern online from a woman in Dublin who teaches traditional stitches, and she spent hours on video calls walking me through each cable twist while I cried in frustration. My therapist let me bring my project to sessions, said working my fingers on the yarn was better therapy than any exercise she could give me. Seven months. This blanket took seven months of sitting in that therapy room three days a week, forcing my damaged hand to remember muscle memory it lost. Every stitch in this thing is a battle I won. Every bobble represents a day I didn't quit. The pattern has twelve different cable variations and I can tell you exactly which sections I made on my worst days because the tension's tighter, angrier. My daughter came to therapy yesterday to see me finish the border, and when I held it up she just stood there crying. She hasn't mentioned assisted living since. Listed it in my new online shop this morning. Already have six orders from other stroke survivors who need to prove to themselves and everyone else that they're still capable. I'm making blankets that say "I survived and I'm still here creating." My hand shakes when I work now, always will, but it works. That's enough. By Emilia Berry

A homeless man has captured the attention of thousands, not for begging, but for the way he rocks his dog to sleep every night. When asked why, he explained that life hadn’t always been this way. “When I first got him, we had an apartment,” he said softly. “Living on the street has been a hard adjustment for him. The honking, the sirens, the people, it keeps him up. So every night, I make sure he’s asleep before I close my eyes.” #dog #wholesome #dogs #doglover
