@TheRealRead @GreenerUHCW @GreenED_uk An tell you've been around ambulance staff too long, I was just working out how I could "acquire" one.....
English

This is just a single day’s worth of disposable tourniquets from our emergency department. It equates to a whopping 80k tourniquets per year!
Following a successful trial of Daisygrip tourniquets we are working with the trust to make the switch to reusable.

@EDPractitioner @RCEMLearning When I did my initial training, we were being taught about drug safety checks, on the PowerPoint for clarity of fluid there was a picture of a goldfish. I still remember clarity of fluid as "no goldfish"

@gasbagheera I remember years ago being told about pens in shirt pockets etc transferring force uneven into ribs, admittedly this was before I'd think to ask for the evidence to back it up. Do see alot of people with vapes on lanyards over sternum these days though. 🤔

@trip9media Where abouts is this? There’s a just medics registered in Telford
English

@DrATemple Pretty much every paramedic when faced with a triangular bandage, will turn to their crewmate and ask "did you do St John?"
English

@Ambo_Matt Servicing and accountability? Although arguably if you aren't able to confirm the service history of it, shouldn't use it, so should swap to own.
English

Why oh why can EEAST not swap scoops across with a private provider? Instead they take ours away without a replacement!
We can take the patient off the scoop but the whole idea is to do as little movement as possible.
What is the solution? Keep taking privates scoops (which are the same as the NHS ones) and don’t give them a replacement or swap like for like? Especially if a local company?

@SarahP_Para @justcronners Yes....to a point, if you leave it hanging out of the cab door and drive to your next job, it will be scratched.
English

@GlenwrightCook Don't know about everyone, but in WMAS there is a paramedic on every vehicle, so every vehicle has someone trained on it.
English

@Carla_xiv I hope twitter doesn't suffer from the "scunthorpe problem" and you lose all words containing pa, you'd never hear about pancakes again.....
English

@Elizabeth_Gay_1 @DrLindaDykes No idea, I just drive it to where I'm told, just happened to have the DX code list.
English

@ElliotSkirrow @DrLindaDykes Yes that's great thank you! Is that as much detail as goes into the ambulance dispatch codes now? As with AMPDS you could differentiate further by problem and severity e.g. 06E01 Vs 06C01 but NHSP just seems to do Cat 1 Vs 2 ambulance response required
English

@DrLindaDykes Is there a way to get a download of all the NHSPathways end disposition outcome codes for dispatch and next steps? You could do for AMPDS but struggling with NHSP and also finding the categorisation confusing when sent ambulance job allocations
