Imho this is an example of how Trump is held to a lower standard. Any other politician trying to distance themselves from a failing core campaign promise wouldn’t be greeted with a “well you gotta hand it to him for being savvy”. If Biden distanced himself from BBB he’d be mocked

This is what I talked about earlier. One of President Trump's actual strengths is he isn't afraid to pull back (and even go against his base) when things go wrong. Democrats could learn from this. POTUS' problem right now is he can't do this on the war. He's pot committed.
