Do something in the City but family and Chelsea more important than all that. West Stand Season Ticket holder when it had wooden seats. Carefree since '66. UTC.

Sky News wheeled out Lord Heseltine. He compared Nigel Farage to Oswald Mosley and claimed he is deeply antisemitic. Wrong. He was warmly welcomed in Golders Green, whereas Starmer was booed. Former Tory grandees like this represent why the uniparties are dying. Ghastly man.

@ralpha060461 We are basically no further forward Ash. I could tolerate refs making errors, I’m sceptical how after prolonged investigation they still can get it wrong, and don’t get me started on ‘clear and obvious’.

I honestly believe football was much more enjoyable before we had VAR It’s ruined the game totally. The spontaneity of celebrating a goal, wrongly or rightly, the ludicrous amount of time it takes to say a player is off by a toenail and the inconsistency of the officials

@henrywinter @greenaway56 I frankly don’t believe this is in anyway an attempt by the club to ensure a better means to obtain tickets. In my opinion it is merely a means to bolster memberships which have become more expensive and meaningless at the same time. I don’t think I’ll even bother to renew mine.

Never mind the ballots? Tickets for Chelsea home matches next season will be sold “via an application process for Chelsea FC members”. Application in a designated window, tickets then allocated through an automated process “run by a third party to ensure complete fairness”. Chelsea introduce ID verification for tickets. “In the interests of security and to help tackle ticket fraud, before accessing or purchasing tickets, supporters over the age of 16 will need to complete an online verification”. Chelsea say they have suspended “over 16,000 memberships, versus 5,000 in 24/25” due to “ticket misuse/touting”, almost half involving “misuse of tickets purchased within the Family Stand”. Chelsea blocked “up to 80,000 bots per game at the point of sale”. Loyalty points will be awarded only for physical attendance at game, ie ticket scanned at turnstile, and not simply through purchasing ticket. “The club has been made aware of instances where supporters have purchased tickets solely to obtain loyalty points, with no intention of attending the match.” From next season, season ticket holders “will be required to utilise their ticket for a minimum 13 PL home games”. Club adds that “where a supporter’s seat has not been utilised for a number of matches, the club will endeavour to contact that supporter to make well-being checks and offer advice on utilisation methods”. These include forwarding ticket to an eligible member and listing ticket on Chelsea’s official ticket exchange. “With such high demand for our tickets, it is important to us that as many seats as possible are made available to members.” #CFC

@tim_rolls @greenaway56 Feels like the model is to remove season tickets, sell meaningless high cost memberships and ultimately move to a corporate model with dynamic pricing as tickets sell out. Financially it works while demand for tickets is strong and it saves the cost of any stadium redevelopment.

@tim_rolls I’ve been twice this year Tim lowest return by a country mile for 50 years. The two occasions I went I enjoyed the pub before and after more than the game in its entirety, both the football and the terrible atmosphere. It might just be a habit I can finally break.

The suits shld be asking themselves why interest & morale among our matchgoing support is so low that we can't sell out a Wembley SF vs a historic rival. As a mate said in the rapidly emptying away end last night, the prevailing mood, on & off the pitch, seems one of total apathy

Hope the good people with the FA at St George's Park reach out to Liam Rosenior and either offer him some role with England age-group sides or some mentoring. LMA, too. To help Rosenior get what was a promising coaching career back on track.

@RichardDeller1 Those teams may not have had great players but they bloody gave their all and wanted to play for the badge (even Graham Wilkins). This lot are overpaid spineless dollops and the manager is as bad as I can remember. Like AVB over promoted with a misguided sense of his own ability

@henrywinter @cooll456 Great post @henrywinter but it is too late. The fact we are at this stage shows exactly the arrogance and sheer delusional attitude these owners have towards not just Chelsea but the sport in general. What manager in their right mind would want to get involved in this circus?

When Chelsea fans protested against the European Super League outside the Bridge on April 20, 2021, at least club legend and performance advisor Petr Cech had the minerals and conscience to step into the throng to talk/plead with them. Different cause to now. And also to who now at Chelsea will communicate with protesting fans? Who do fans actually respect in the building? Disconnect between fans and owners is deeply damaging - and growing. Supporters are understandably angered by BlueCo’s naive stewardship of their club, the lack of experience in the dressing-room, dug-out, recruitment department and boardroom. They rail against wretched results seeing them fall from the Champions League spots. They are concerned about the prospect of ticket price rises and, they fear, the focus on tourist and corporate fan over so-called legacy fans, the ones who were there in the bad times. Home and away. They fear the heart and soul being ripped out of their club - their club - and replaced by a US-made cash register.  BlueCo has to respond. No more spin. Be real, be genuine, be more open to fans before the marches escalate into people voting with their feet, leading to rows upon rows of empty seats. It’s not too late. Communicate properly, directly. Boehly and Eghbali are intelligent individuals, successful in business but they are new to the tricky currents of English football. They have to listen, they have to learn otherwise they’re going to lose all remaining credibility and lose a limo full of cash. #CFC

@henrywinter Been going to SB for 50 years Henry multi generationally, this is the most disconnected and disinterested in a club where I’ve been tattooed with their crest. Poor management, players that travel through onto their next bigger payday and a stadium I can’t relate to anymore.

Football reporters should never ever, ever, ever use the word ‘disaster’ in relation to giving a goal away. We’ve just marked the Hillsborough tragedy. Check your language. Do much better.

@hellierd @zola155 Been going to the SB for 50 yrs, the last few seasons has become a chore to get tickets. Combined with lack of atmosphere, ownership I struggle with & a team I find it quite difficult to like I’m close to thinking the unbreakable habit of a lifetime may be easy to let go of.

I've been highlighting the inability for Chelsea to get a 40,000 crowd for ages and it's not to do with fan malaise or anything like that (though this could become an issue if the mood doesn't improve soon at Stamford Bridge). The issue is the pricing of the tickets.
London Is Blue Podcast ⭐️⭐️@LondonBluePod

‼️ @Matt_Law_DT: Chelsea haven't had a 40,000 attendance yet this season. The last 40,000 attendance was the opening day of the 2023-24 season vs Liverpool. They have not had a 40,000 attendance since then. I could not believe that. 🎧👉 open.spotify.com/episode/1MwwKg…

Morning everyone. Dont know if you’re like me but I’m not one bit disappointed about yesterday and that sums up that word again….apathy. Anyway, genuinely serious question. Is there one positive thing g about the club right now? Maybe there is and I just can’t see it.
