Death is the endgame that most of us try to avoid in emergency medicine
Cardiac arrest = death

Do they have HOCC funding for after hours on-call service?
Rural patients deserve access to emergency mental health service based more on their need & less on their postal code. @OntariosDoctors

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad our ER helped your father, and gave him the same kind of care we're striving to provide to everyone in Ottawa. It's the incredible team - docs, nurses, allied health just to name a few - that makes my job that much easier :)

Decanting patients with minor illnesses to clinics will not address ER overcrowding and adverse events in waiting rooms.
Provinces need to increase inpatient and long term care spaces so that ER beds are available to see sick patients.

@NightShiftMD It feels less atmospheric than S1. The medicine is still surprisingly accurate, but it feels like more of a medical drama filming than "fly-on-the-wall/day-in-the-life" energy they had in S1. S1 gave my wife a real representation of how chaotic, noisy and busy the ED can be.

9. Just for even role splitting. Deone Walker and Phidarian Mathis will be their usual 1-technique DTs, while DaQuan Jones and T.J. Sanders will be their usual 3-technique DTs. Ogunjobi is a 3-technique and they want to use Jones in the starting lineup next to Walker.

There’s nowhere to see people
Everyone has influenza. No one has primary care.
Please be patient with triage nurses. They are doing an extremely difficult job that is critical to patient safety. Especially when we are so crowded.

It is easy to point to an individual doctor or nurse as the "cause" of this tragedy, but the true root causes of horrific outcomes like this is the system that these healthcare workers are placed in.
