@DrLukeCraddock And whilst the Hippocratic oath is no longer universally recited its principles are still very much part of medical ethics. Striking is not in the patients best interests. So you are going against the core principles of being a Dr.
I was not working in 2008. However, I am not worth anything less than a doctor of the same grade was back then.
Just because I knew “what I signed up for” doesn’t exclude me from fighting for something better.
@BMAResidents@strike_map Striking goes against everything being a Dr. Represents, you are an absolute disgrace to the medical profession. You knew and accepted pay rates when you started your journey to become Drs. Start at the bottom work your way up. Approx 6 to 8 yrs to consultants earning 100k +
📢Strike action for resident doctors in England starts Friday (25th July)
📍All picket lines are up on @strike_map
💪Plan your day and share with friends, family and colleagues - we need everyone to show their support for #PayRestoration#DoctorsStrikestrikemap.org
@SkySportsGolf Any chance of actually seeing the golf we’ve been watching all morning till you came along with your so called full coverage that consists of 20 minutes flippin chit chat whilst we miss the last 2 holes of this mornings play.
@sumitriptan@thefierychef@wesstreeting In an earlier post, you stated you qualified 4 yrs ago - yet you want your pay restored to what you got in 2008, I make that 17 yrs ago. Were you not told the pay scales when you decided to enrol as a student Dr.
I graduated as a doctor 4 years ago with ~£100k of debt, and despite working up to 72 hours a week, my debt has only increased.
Doctors are being paid £17/hour and have to make loan repayments and pay thousands for exams and fees.
We are only asking for £23/hour.
@wesstreeting
@Taj_Ali1 Absolute nonsense, The majority if not all of the Dr’s in question were not even Drs in 2008. Many of those Entering training in 2008 will now be consultants earning in excess of 100k a yr. New starters know the pay scales when they enrol. So why complain after you take the job.
Imagine someone nicks £40 from your £100.
They give you £20 back, then call you greedy for asking for the rest.
That’s what doctors are facing.
They are being paid 20% less in real terms than they were in 2008.
Full pay restoration is not an unreasonable demand.
@BMAResidents NHS is already on its knees, why not chop its legs completely off. Did none of you check out the pay before deciding to become Drs. Like all other jobs you have to start at the bottom not the top. Many of you will go on to become amongst the highest paid in society. Jokesville!
The results are in: we have a clear mandate to strike.
More than 90% of you who voted in our ballot, voted YES.
You’ve made it clear: enough is enough.
Our fight for full #PayRestoration for resident doctors in England continues.
@garyplayer He only won the open at Birkdale because he was allowed to play from the practice area which should have been Out of Bounds. If a player cannot practice on the course before or between the rounds of a competition then by definition the practice area cannot be part of the course
This week, I am rooting for Jordan Spieth to capture the career Grand Slam. I have been a big fan of Jordan for a long time and do feel he is one of the most talented golfers on Tour right now. He is a magician, especially around the greens. I’m getting nostalgic thinking about how close together Jack and I accomplished this feat, and Jordan and Rory could do it in the same year, which has never happened! It would be amazing for our game and amplify what it means to win all four Majors. Good luck to all the Touring and PGA professionals competing this week at Quail Hollow! GP
@PGATUOR Should have been a DQ, offence was not hitting a moving ball but deliberately breaking the rules in order to seek an advantage but as usual USGA didnt have the balls to enforce against a high profile player.
"I did spend some time stretching in a jail cell. That was part of my warm up." 😅
Scottie Scheffler explains how he felt after getting arrested the morning before the second round of the PGA Championship.
@tonyc920@PGATUOR Hitting a moving ball normally 2 shot penalty but Should have been disqualified as he deliberately broke the rules in order to gain advantage.
@Jk96595925Jk96@NCG_com Spieth should never have got that drop, A player may not practice on the course before or between the rounds of a tournament, therefore the practice area cannot be an integral part of the course.
@SkySportsGolf Whilst its great that Tiger is back in action - there are actually other players in the field, not that we'd know it as you haven't shown anyone else. I do hope all 4 days are not going to be the same
Rahm’s results from this season will not count in the PGA Tour's points list that determines eligibility for the 2024 season.
