Today, as we mark Doctors’ Day, I would like to appreciate all the doctors and medical professionals from India who are tirelessly working in Venezuela, as a part of #OperationAmistad. In such a challenging time, their efforts to serve those in need are shining examples of how medical professionals rise to the occasion every time our society faces a challenge.

Today, we mark 11 years since the Digital India initiative was launched. This initiative has redefined governance, empowered citizens and accelerated all-round development. It has touched every aspect of life. From seamless digital payments and direct benefit transfers reaching beneficiaries with transparency to the expanding digital public infrastructure, technology has become a powerful instrument for furthering ‘Ease of Living.’ Digital India has taken the wave of innovation to all parts of India, especially villages, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Young entrepreneurs, StartUps and innovators from every corner of the country are creating solutions to the pressing challenges that our planet faces. This initiative has strengthened education, healthcare, agriculture, commerce and public service delivery, making governance more transparent, efficient and accessible. Our strides in the digital world have ensured that India is making rapid progress in emerging technologies such as AI, semiconductors, quantum computing and more. This too will open new avenues for growth and opportunity. Also explored opportunities for collaboration in emerging technologies and the shipping sector to advance our shared vision of a secure, affordable, inclusive, and sustainable clean energy future.

It was a pleasure to address the India-Greece Business Forum alongside Mr. Harry Theoharis, Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece. I also had the opportunity to interact with members of the Indian diaspora community attending the event. Highlighted India's remarkable growth story, strong macroeconomic fundamentals & consistent economic progress, offering unparalleled opportunities for Greece. Also, emphasised the immense potential of the India-EU FTA in unlocking new opportunities for trade, investment & economic cooperation. Delighted to witness the live demonstration of the Eurobank-NIPL partnership enabling UPI services at Eurobank headquarters in Athens, alongside its CEO, Mr. Fokion Karavias, and CEO of Fairfax Digital Services, Mr. Sanjay Tugnait, marking another important milestone in the global expansion of India’s digital payment ecosystem. With UPI now live in Greece, eligible customers can transfer money instantly, securely, and seamlessly, with transaction costs reducing drastically to a fraction of conventional transfer costs. The increasing global acceptance and appreciation of UPI reflects the trust in PM @NarendraModi ji’s vision of building technology-led solutions that create value beyond borders and deepen partnerships for shared growth and prosperity. @NPCI_NPCI
