This seems kinda...radical? ASU makes its courses available to anyone for $25/course. After you take the class, if you want the grade you got added to an official transcript with a credit you can use, +$400. These are real college credits. 8 year olds are getting college credits!

@MikeAtherton Gambling apps like DraftKings. Wild information density, complex flows seem painless, unique UI requirements. Problematic, perhaps, but pretty genius from a strictly UX perspective.

@LiveNation 503s and “page not found” and now getting “your session has been suspended” — well yes, refreshing the page to see if it will ever load. Ticketmaster does not learn 🙄

@WGNNews What’s with only naming one of the two members to resign? Is there some reason why one person is named and the other is referred to as “and another member”?

A state parole board member resigned Monday after recommending the release of a man who a day later attacked a pregnant Chicago woman with a knife and fatally stabbed her 11-year-old son while he tried to protect her, according to authorities. wgntv.com/news/chicagocr…

@danbarker 🤣 unclear how I became a defender of dressage, but hopefully it brings some weird joy to people. No shame intended!

Things I did not know existed: the sport of Horses Dancing to Music. Here, the horse Porridge dances, watched by HRH Princess Anne, to music played by Gaynor Colbourn (who also wrote the music to the BBC sitcom 'Sorry!')

Israel has cut off all internet and cellular communication in Gaza. They don’t want the world to see what they are doing. We must not look away from this violence, especially during a blackout. We need a #CeasefireNow.

The effects can be seen from space. The Gaza Strip has plunged into darkness since Israel announced a “complete siege” Oct. 9. On Friday, the little connectivity Gaza had with the outside world appeared to be severed, amid reports of heavy bombardment. wapo.st/477tylj

At 4am, Texas Republicans passed a hateful anti-immigrant bill that: ✖️Traps migrants in razor wire ✖️Spends billions to build Trump’s wall ✖️Separates children from their parents This bill is immoral, inhumane, & ineffective. Texans deserve real solutions not dangerous stunts.

Opinion by Karen Attiah: We cannot stand by and watch Israel commit atrocities. The United States and other global leaders must not allow Israel to carry out the collective punishment it has declared it will exact on Gaza. wapo.st/3S0wXhC

@patio11 Seconding the other comment from a Chicagoan…when I moved to IL last year and needed to get a license and register my car, people were very surprised I went to the DMV and not a currency exchange, which seems to be “a private business that helps you avoid gov bureaucracy/lines”

Ruriko: Oh a currency exchange. Does this neighborhood get a lot of tourists? Me: … No. Ruriko: Then who exchanges currency? Me: Exchanging currency is not near the top of activities at a currency exchange.

@edyong209 I subscribed to The Atlantic in 2020 primarily because I wanted to read and support your work, which really stood out from all other COVID reporting at the time. Looking forward to following your next chapters. Congrats on the end of this one!

Some news: After 8 years & 750 stories, I've decided to leave The Atlantic. Today's my last day. Being a writer means you can’t say things like "I can’t tell you what this means" cos, well, I can. That's kind of the point of me. So here’s an attempt at looking back & forward: 1/
