Ministry of Health released a report last evening on the outbreak of Ebola in Uganda. Report looked alarming. Uganda Media Center says situation has been handled, regardless of a death registered.

@CanaryMugume "In unlikely event that you identify a person Ebola symptoms ... Take necessary precautions" @ainbyoo of @MinofHealthUG would adjust that statement in a public health sense. Let @kasujja work expert journalists or Public Health Experts while doing public health press releases

AAA: Museveni’s Sleeper Agent, Political Student, or the Master’s Most Dangerous Graduate? I wrote it here before, and I’ll repeat it: AAA was M7’s sleeper agent within the opposition, trusted with sensitive assignments on his behalf. But somewhere along the way, Anitah seems to have quietly given herself a parallel assignment, study the master. Learn how M7 has managed to contain, control, and sustain power for over four decades. And perhaps the biggest lesson she picked up was this: in politics, here and everywhere else, money is oxygen. So she accumulated it. Built networks with it. Opened doors with it. Some would even argue that her hand became better at giving than M7’s own. We’ve all heard the stories, NRM bigwigs who couldn’t easily access M7 but could secure appointments through AAA, even while she was still wearing the FDC jersey. That alone should tell you she was never an ordinary opposition figure. If Bobi Wine had not emerged unexpectedly, and if he hadn’t already had his own independent leverage—2021 might have found Uganda with no meaningful opposition at all. That shock disrupted many calculations. And after NUP’s rise, AAA appeared to take on yet another assignment: understand it, penetrate it, and where possible, weaken it. Many believe that’s part of how a once-promising LoP chapter under Mathias Mpuuga slowly unraveled. So when M7 bragged to his own people that he works underground, not through noise, and that he would finish Kyagulanyi’s group quietly, some of us understood he was speaking from experience not guesswork. AAA may or may not make it back as Speaker. But one thing is becoming clearer: M7 may have to think harder than usual when dealing with a student who didn’t just take notes but may have mastered the course.

It must be emotionally stressful for AAA that in the middle of a Rolls Royce scandal, including angry tweets from a potential next president (could she afford it without being Speaker?); an ongoing CSR corruption scrutiny in billions (thanks to @AgoraCFR), PLU pulled their support. All in one week. Her only safeguard against prison being position of speaker, these must be difficult times. Add that viral picture with a clearly indifferent CDF – which signals to the temperature behind the curtains. Interestingly, all this pain she brought onto herself! She deserves flowers for maintaining a straight face.

Article 162 shields the Governor @BOU_Official from direction or control of any person or authority. He testified before Parliament on monetary risks and saved Uganda! That is not a statement to be “careful” about. He did his constitutional duty. Respect it.

@sejudav I still think the true objective of this war was to cause an energy crisis. US and Iran are just pieces on a grand chess board. The next years through 2030s, we should anticipate; energy crisis, economic depression, and a major pandemic worse than covid 19.

So war ended just like that...Just like....So what was it all about then? It started when when Iran had no HORMUZ, now it took it. War started when U.S had 19 Military Bases, 8 of them permanent ones, with ASSETS like RADAR SYSTEMS, RUNWAYS, AIRCRAFT HANGERS, accomodating 50,000 American soldiers. Almost all the Bases and those ASSETS now destroyed! The troops scattered in U.S, EUROPE, etc...! The War started when Iran had Enriched Uranium, still has. It started when Iran was under the Islamic Republic, still is. It started when the Supreme Leader was AYATOLLAH KHAMENEI, IT IS NOW AYATOLLAH MOJTABA KHAMENEI....It started when the Price of gasoline ⛽️ was 2 dollars, now it is $6! It started when the AXIS of Resistance(Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Hamas).was supposed to be Weakened; now Israel is locked up in attrition war in Lebanon against Hezebollah, the Iraq front devastated American ASSETS in Iraq and forced NATO evacuation from Iraq and U.S troops from Syria. The war started when Europe was buddies with U.S, and it has now ended when many of the European states having closed their AIRSPACES against U.S/ISRAEL military flights... It started when U.S was the UNDISPUTED GLOBAL SUPERPOWER; RESPECTED AND FEARED; IT is ending when it is HELD IN CONTEMPT, DESPISED AND CONSIDERED A ROGUE, COLLAPSING STATE/EMPIRE.... I Will write a more comprehensive analysis about the current GEOSTRATEGIC situation in the world later, but just know, alot has changed in the World.
Glenn Diesen@Glenn_Diesen

Marco Rubio argues that "Operation Epic Fury is concluded" as the objectives were acheved. In reality, Iran won this war. There was no regime chenge, no nuclear deal, no limits of ballistic missiles and drones, no decoupling of ties between Iran and its regional allies, and the Strait of Hormuz is now under Iran's control. US bases in the region have been destroyed, the US alliance system has been weakened, and the petro-dollar will not recover. This epic failure was not just another failed regime change war, this will severely weaken the position of the US in the Middle East. All that was achieved was the murder of many Iranians and keeping the Epstein files out of the media.

Apply for the Certificate in Applied Health Systems Research – 2026 Intake @Makerere University School of Public Health invites applications for the 2026 intake of the Certificate in Applied Health Systems Research, a short, intensive virtual programme designed for professionals working at the intersection of research, policy, and health system practice. Why this course matters Health system challenges are rarely linear. They are shaped by institutional complexity, political realities, and competing stakeholder interests. In many cases, the issue is not the absence of evidence, but the difficulty of producing research that is relevant, timely, and usable within real decision-making environments. This course is designed to address that gap, equipping participants to generate and apply evidence that responds to actual system constraints. What you will gain Participants will develop the ability to: frame research problems grounded in real system conditions, analyse complex interactions within health systems, design policy-relevant and methodologically sound studies and translate findings into actionable insights for decision-making, among others. Apply via: docs.google.com/forms/d/1SjPWK… For more details: sph.mak.ac.ug/anouncement/an…

"Stoking flames..." The fire is already burning, no? You people attacking fellow Africans are the ones STOKING FLAMES; seems you have learned nothing from your PAST ENSLAVEMENT! How many African fighters died in the the decisive battle of CUITO CUANAVALE IN ANGOLA WHICH RESULTED IN NAMIBIA INDEPENDENCE AND BROKE THE BACK OF APARTHEID? In that battle, described as the largest military confrontation since WW2, were 55, 000 Cuban troops! These were not Zulu or Xhosa....... Here in Uganda which you seem to dismiss we have your COMBATANTS buried on our land; should we exhume them? The place is even called by the names of your leader- OLIVA REGINALD TAMBO....And there hundreds buried in Tanzania, Zambia, etc... You are insulting the memory of our great African LIBERATION LEADERS- NYERERE, KAUNDA, MUGABE, NETO......and offending AFRICAN VALUES AND TRADITIONS. Must be careful!

Thank you @DailyMonitor for publishing Tegule’s reminiscences. Noble used to joke that he personified the NRM because those letters were also his initials - Noble Rwaboni Mayombo🤣 We lived in the same Hall - Mitchell and sat in the same class for three years. He was one of the five soldiers of the NRA who had returned from the bush to resume studies. Their five were inseparable. Their pentagon had Mayombo, Mugira, Turyatunga, Karemire and Bainomugisha. The opposite pentagon had Oulanyah, Kajubi-Ssepuuya, Othembi, Olok-Asobasi and I. When I first visited Mayombo’s room I found he had an oversized 6 inch mattress on a tiny bed. Apart from the usual legal tomes, his bookshelf was full of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Kim Il Sung, and other communist thinkers. I recall that Cuban revolutionary icons Fidel Castro and Che Guevara were his true role models. He could recite entire passages from Castro’s courtroom apologia - History Shall Absolve Me. After the Guild race he refused to accept that his was a real loss. He claimed that it was due to a gap in the consciousness of the students who were confused about who can best serve their interests. He saw himself as a Daniel Ortega whose Sandinista Party overthrew the Samoza regime in Nicaragua but lost elections in 1990. I think Noble wanted to blunt the sting of the electoral loss. I told him that the students were actually aware of their interests that is why they voted for a candidate who was resisting the IMF/World Bank inspired structural adjustment policies that the NRM government had embraced lock, stock and barrel. This policy package forced developing countries like Uganda to carry out radical privatization programs and cut social spending. It was indeed a medicine whose side effects were worse than the disease it intended to cure! Our disagreements never degenerated into personal conflicts. No wonder a few months after the elections, during the Annual Africa Week, we held a Mock OAU Summit (now AU), and Noble agreed to play the role of Libyan President Gadaffi! He gave a sterling performance. Another Guild contestant, Amon Muzoora played the role of the host President Museveni with Grace Rubaale as First Lady Janet Museveni. Such fora gave the students the opportunity to delve into policy debates and gain insight into the problems afflicting society.
Daily Monitor@DailyMonitor

Norbert Mao vs Noble Mayombo: The presidential race fate denied Ugandans, writes @gawayategulle "In 1994, Mao and Mayombo, both lawyers, ran for seats in the Constituent Assembly. Mao lost to an old warhorse, Andrew Adimola, in Gulu Municipality. Mayombo, a favourite of the President, easily made it to the CA as an Army Delegate. But the two rivals met again in the 6th Parliament (1996-2001), Mayombo as a UPDF MP, and Mao as Gulu Municipality MP." 👉bit.ly/4t86QUz #MonitorUpdates
