I’ve had the opportunity to review several Cybersecurity CVs, and I want to share a few practical tips that can make a real difference 👇🏾 Don’t just list tools or frameworks, show how you have used them. Anyone can mention ISO 27001, NIST, or Splunk. What stands out is how you applied them. Treat your labs, internships, and projects as real experience. Hands-on experience is still experience. If you have built, tested, analysed, or implemented something, it counts. Don’t undersell yourself. Make risk visible in your experience. Cybersecurity is all about managing risk. If your CV doesn’t reflect your understanding of risk, you are missing a key differentiator. Highlight how your work reduced, identified, or managed risk. Quantify your impact where possible. Numbers make your experience more credible and compelling. For example: “Reviewed 50+ third-party vendors for security risks” Tailor your CV to the role. Avoid sending the same CV everywhere. Align your experience with the job description, this shows intention and increases your chances. Build a strong profile summary. Your profile is your pitch. Use it to clearly communicate who you are, what you do, and the value you bring. Reality check 👇🏾
Your CV is your first step into a Cybersecurity role. If you want to get interviews, having a strong CV significantly improves your chances. Small changes can make a big difference. Take the time to refine it.

Most people overcomplicate becoming a SOC analyst. If you’ve ever: - Checked Windows Event Viewer - Investigated a failed login - Restarted a suspicious service - Looked through firewall logs - Traced a user permission issue Now add: - Log correlation - Basic attacker techniques - SIEM familiarity - Clear documentation Congrats — you’ve already done the foundation of SOC work.

On March 24th, I sat for ISC2 exam and passed. Mid-exam, I felt unprepared, but the reality was different. I’d been preparing for months through projects and consistent study without realizing it. If you don't see progress yet, don't panic. Just keep showing up. #ISC2 #SOC
