Did you know that inflation has spiked in Venezuela since Maduro left office?? Did you also know that the money made from Venezuelan oil sales is sent into an account controlled by the US and also used in settling debts?? If the Venezuelans are experiencing harsher reality now compared to when Maduro was in power, then what are the benefits of the US intervention in the country?? The US ain't in Venezuela to help the people but to take as much as possible while they can. Remember Trump's statements like "we'll make a lot of money from their oil" and "we'll take their oil". Venezuelans will understand why it's terrible to betray your leader for the United States to take over. A terrible idea. They'll learn the hard way.

Netanyahu took the US into the Iran war - New York Times Trump sat down, but not in his usual position at the head of the conference table. Instead, he sat on the side. Netanyahu sat on the other side, directly opposite the president. As equal. Trump’s hawkish thinking closely aligned with Netanyahu’s over many months, more so than even some of the president’s key advisers recognized. It appeared that Trump used the meeting to justify an already taken decision. Netanyahu promised a near-certain victory: -Iran’s ballistic missile program could be destroyed in a few weeks -The regime would be so weakened that it could not choke off the Strait of Hormuz -the likelihood that Iran would land blows against U.S. interests in neighboring countries was assessed as minimal. ➡️ 2026 is when the NYT told us, for the first time, that the US is being led by Israel. If you have no New York Times subscription, read all about it here: israelpalestinenews.org/ny-times-repor…

There is no going back to the status quo ante. There will need to be a new international agreement to manage the Strait of Hormuz. Here's the plan proposed yesterday by me, @RichardHaass, and Philip Zelikow.

Income tax was slashed as well as capex write offs -As to tariffs -this is economic war. You cant free trade with China whose companies get govt money to export product below cost. China strategically floods nations (even running at losses for extended time periods) as a tactic to bankrupt competitors. China built its own export machine on tariffs.

The United States was faced with an energy crisis with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Gas prices were hitting the roof. What did Trump do? He quickly lifted sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil, despite being in conflict with both countries. Under no circumstances should Africa continue to play by the rules set by the US or Western institutions. These rules are never based on principles. For the West, everything is about self-interest. Africa should do the same and care only about own interests too. My latest report for @Spearhead_Af
Biggest Mack tweet media
The Spearhead@Spearhead_Af

The Strait of Hormuz and the Western Hypocrisy Africa Can No Longer Afford to Ignore Since the US‑Israeli war on Iran began, President Donald Trump’s actions have exposed how American foreign policy often changes based on self-interest. When Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, threatening global oil supply, Trump first lifted sanctions on Russian oil and then allowed Iran to sell its own oil — the very country the US is at war with. These moves show that rules the US imposes on others can be suspended when convenient. For Africa, this is a clear warning. Africa must build its own systems in finance, politics, and trade, and pursue partnerships that benefit the continent; with or without Washington’s approval.

Imagine lacking the capability to self-reflect and being able to understand the ramifications of making such a comment. Not least how crassly irresponsible it is to say this. Aside from the very clear admission of it being a war crime, what does it say about you as a person? What is this telling the world about the US? It is another classic example of end of empire days. The damage it does to the US on the world stage is irreparable. You are clearly completely unfit to hold the office of Defence Secretary.

I'm honestly very fkn upset! Israel's Defense Minister just blatantly said they will occupy 10% of Lebanon even AFTER the war, and over 600k people that have their homes there cannot return! And also today, Netanyahu is saying that after the Iran war, the Strait of Hormuz needs to be bypassed using pipelines from Saudi to the Mediterranean I'm trying to be objective on everything, but after the destruction of Gaza, recent unwarranted bombing of Syria a few days ago, and now this, I am struggling to remain objective! Israel needs to reconsider its foreign policy or the cycle of violence won't stop! You cannot occupy Lebanon and expect the Government to disarm the militia that was founded BECAUSE of Israeli occupation decades ago! You cannot bomb Syria non stop and expect the people and the Government to sit idly and normalize relations You cannot wipe out Gaza and keep occupying it, then pass a law where the death penalty applies to Palestinians and not Israelis, and expect Palestinians to not be radicalized and fight back You cannot expect to bomb Iran, then propose a pipeline that benefits you, and expect the Arab world to become allies I want Hezbollah gone. I want the Iranian regime gone. I want Palestinian radicalization gone. But this is NOT the way to do it! This is NOT the way to achieve peace in the region!
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

My worst nightmare for Lebanon is coming true, and I am beginning to seriously question my assumption that Israel does not want to annex Lebanese territory The Defense Minister's statement today that Israel will occupy a part of Southern Lebanon after the war is inexcusable How can they expect to get rid of Hezbollah, which was founded because of Israel's occupation of Lebanon, if their goal is to occupy Lebanon again?!

The endless crying about Russia sharing data is a harsh reminder that most of the population are completely ignorant of what the U.S. is doing in Ukraine or they’re just the grossest hypocrites on earth. Remember when I said “hey this isn’t a great idea because when the opportunity presents itself for Russia to hurt US military operations, they are going to jump on it because of our actions.” Sadly predictable.

#VENEZUELA It is becoming increasingly difficult for some of us in the international movement for solidarity with Venezuela to understand what is happening in the country. There can be no doubt that acting President Delcy Rodríguez and her government are closely cooperating with the Trump administration. The acting President and some leaders of her government were seen in a video applauding the raising of the US flag at a ceremony opening a new US Embassy in Caracas. The removal from office of staunch Maduro allies from the top of the Venezuelan defence establishment has also not been explained. Perhaps we need to ask the very simple question, What is happening?
